It's such a profound thing to know that all the great talents of the last ten years haven't been on the radio, VEVO, or had their names in lights. You have to earn the right to hear the greatest art of this generation by working for it. Slogging through comments for suggested artists and through rag entertainment newspapers to take a chance on random small venues denoting genres that are so damn opaque in their description. Bluegrass, folk...hell, even real hip hop and jazz all went underground. Those who aren't worthy of hearing these sublime moments have written off the notion of there being anything great since the 80's because they didn't hear it on FM or shoved into their faces by television. Share these moments with those who quit searching and remind them that art is alive and well, but you have to get off your ass and look for it. Just like this song. A twinkle of youth and a tear came to my 60 year old dads eye to hear it when I shared this (and more) with him. A little injection of life and youth, and suddenly he wants to find live music again. Thank you for that, Tyler.

I love that people who usually gravitate towards different genres are openly expressing their enjoyment of Tyler. I think we often judge people based on very little information such as a song they're playing as they drive by, or a specific shirt they chose to wear on a given day, etc. And it's a shame that we boil people down when their well is so much deeper. That kinda thing keeps us so separate. I implore anyone reading this to challenge you're snap judgements about people when you catch yourself doing this. Have a good one.
