Ngl you killed that Are We Still Friends performance! That will always be my favourite Tyler song, and possibly my favourite outro on any album, especially the way the last note feeds back into the first note of the album implying that they do become friends again and Tyler is destined to repeat the relationship & have his heartbroken by the boy all over again. Love this album so much!
@JoaoFerreira-lk3hn2 жыл бұрын
Tyler's other albums are more "conventional" rap (even though there's nothing conventional about them but they're more straight forward in terms of the rap sound) so I feel like if you're interested in diving in a little bit into this type of experimental rap/pop/r&b blend sound, Frank Ocean's "Blonde" is an amazing album to look into!

It's cool that we're diversifying and reacting to rap music now :D. I recommend listening to "Sometimes I Might Be Introvert" by Little Simz. She's a British rapper and that album is critically acclaimed, she actually dropped it the same day Drake and Kanye west dropped their album and somehow she still found a way to amass an audience, which is incredible. It is a highly personal, emotional, reflective album that has a lot to unpack. Also, we need more black female artists in the spotlight so, highly recommend! :D

Vince Staples once described the idea behind not indicating features in the tracklist; basically it keeps the focus on the tracks as their own pieces instead of just who’s on it. The intention is to push the listener to pay attention to what’s going on in the art. Tyler seems to think the same way. He’s shown feature credits in the past, but it makes sense not to for this type of concept album. Speaking of Vince, you should put his album “Big Fish” on your radar. It’s a super forward thinking hip hop album with heavy electronic influences, including production from SOPHIE!

I think you should definitely do Flower Boy by Tyler, less experimental but still far from a standard rap album. There’s also his latest album which goes for a more standard rap sound but still with the love theme. Both amazing albums, IGOR’s my favourite though

Have you ever considered going through The Pretty Reckless' discography? They're a pretty famous modern rock band who try their best to emulate the roots of traditional rock & roll. The lead singer, Taylor Momsen, also plays Cindy Lou Who in Jim Carrey's How the Grinch Stole Christmas. If you do listen to The Pretty Reckless (on the channel or by yourself) you should just go in chronological album order.
