Undersized guys like him are a huge liability on defense. Other teams immediately attack them, post them up, etc. They're mismatch nightmares.
@ByAnyMeansBasketball8 жыл бұрын
Agreed. That's the main reason we believe that he may need to bulk up a little bit to have a sustainable good career.

“The skills he brings as a point guard, size really doesn’t matter,” Watson said. “The old point guard, posting up with Gary Payton and Mark Jackson - that doesn't exist. Pace is everything. And you might talk about well, who can he guard? Well who’s gonna guard him? It goes both ways.” -Earl Watson

We've seen players do it before... JJ Barea, Aaron Brooks, and Jameer Nelson just to name a few, have had relatively injury-free careers. With proper performance training I wouldn't be surprised if he has a long, solid career.
@ByAnyMeansBasketball8 жыл бұрын
+young chris that is true, but we have seen others (IT, Nate Robinson) do it as well at sub-5'10". Granted, they are a little bit bulkier than Ulis, but with the abundance of innovative performance/rehab technology, I would say he has a good shot at a long career.

young chris+ Height isn't the concern in this regard, it's more about his slight frame. He is going to need to add about 10-15 pounds of muscle to hold up over an 82 game season IMO.

it's way easier to gain weight than it is to improve on a skill that you're weak at
@ByAnyMeansBasketball8 жыл бұрын
+crooklyn generally, agreed, which is why we projected him to have a solid career
