What Fusion 360 tutorials would you like to see? What beginner content for Fusion 360 would be most helpful?
Many beginners in Fusion 360 are struggling with the same challenges that all CAD users face. Is it better to put everything in one large sketch or should you use feature for everything. I address these questions in the Fusion 360 tutorial video.

I have been looking for a video like this for weeks. As someone who is still learning fusion but has quite a bit of experience with mastercam it’s almost frustrating that I didn’t quite get a good foundation on fusion. This is just the video I needed to get me past quite a few hurdles I’ve been having. I have learned a ton from trial and error but I’ve been taking days learning things that take a few minutes to do. All my sketches and things have been over constrained and I really didn’t fully realize how to use fusion. I’ve got a lot to learn still and look forward to watching more of your videos. Your thorough explanations have been clutch

Great share, many time-saving tips. I think two good practices to add are 1) always create Components for everything you design, and 2) use User Parameters for core measurements like Length, Height, Depth, etc. of 3D bodies. The first one lets you fabricate each component separately, and the second one one saves your brain from remembering too many key dimensions. These may have obfuscated the points you were making in this kind of video, though.

Hi Tyler, another great video. As always, I have some picky detail to mention. @12:00 you say you align the two left circles along the vertical axle, but you quickly close the error message since you already aligned the bottom left circle with the bottom one along the horizontal axle. No biggie, but since it is "Beginner" in the title it is worth mentioning IMO. I am a beginner, so I had to repeat the section a few times to get the hang of what happened. Another thing that came to my strange mind was that it would have been more logical to have the feet at the same distance from the outer edges instead of along the diagonal construction line. Maybe you just wanted to show the use of the construction line, but for me, as they are called "feet" it would make more sense to have them positioned as I just wrote. If the rectangle was a square, of course, the diagonal construction line would work perfectly. Hmm, I really tend to ramble on, but since English isn't my native tongue, I'm not sure I can explain my thoughts shorter than this (and it may still not make sense 😂😂) Oh, one last thing (I think...). I noticed that you were a bit happy with the scissors editing the video, some parts that IMO are needed for a beginner's video were cut out in post. I got used to it and was able to figure things out, but I think it can be a bit confusing.

I thought you went at a good pace. I've only been using Fusion 360 for the past 2 weeks. It's surprisingly easy to pick up. I need to work on the mussel memory and learn new tricks. Which do you prefer to work in Solidworks or fusion? I've been debating about learning Solidworks and wonder if it's worth it. Seems like Autodesk keeps changing fusions drasticly, making older videos semi obsolete and more difficult to follow.

@@TylerBeckofTECHESPRESSO Tyler, have you curated some videos into a Udemy course? I highly suggest it if you haven't. It is really helpful to have someone walk you from complete noob to mildly dangerous designer. Charles, hang in there, it is worth it. It is very sophisticated so there is much to learn. Next to Tyler's videos, I would suggest "Parametric Modeling with Autodesk Fusion 360," by Shih. Not cheap, but the software is basically free, after all. It walks you linearly through topics, the book is great next to videos like Tyler's.

The Shell command moved way too quick without enough words. Ending a sketch in progress happened but was not stated. Only an experienced person would understand that had happend. The the new sketch was quickly created without words. Then the new plane was quickly selected. All of this was pertinent to understanding how to get from the original 2D sketch to a 3D object that could be swept. If keyboard shortcuts are going to be used, please at least state what actions are being accomplished along with how they were accomplished via keystrokes which the user has no intiuitive knowledge of.

Good one this speeds up my work a LOT ! Oh and word of advice, drop the Imperial mate use metric like the rest of the world that way you yourself work a lot faster, trust me.. if I asked you : give me 1/75 of an inch how much is that ? How are you going to measure that ? Yeah yeah yeah you will say : that will be 1/75 of an inch yeah I got that.... but how much is it.... in units ?? You see.... your inch is based on metric, you are already using it... but then I see you yanks construct things and then I am like : whattttttt how can you work like that ? No wonder why you are 40 percent less productive then we are.... what a waste of time ! And a waste of computing and converting power what a waste of time, you already buy your soda in liters right ? You also use liters to distinguish the displacements of engines and their cylinders ? The word Diameter is metric... meter is in it.... for some reason you leave the time alone... 60 seconds is still seconds over there that is odd... why using the same time as us if you want to be different ? And then when you cut time up into milliseconds you suddenly DROP the imperial system and then you switch over to metric pffffffff you must be soooooo exhausted living such a life and to work like that ! I would shoot myself if I had to work like you yanks ! Why are you doing this to yourselfs is what I want to know.... plus that it costs us Europeans a LOT of time... time we rather want to use productive ! Drop the imperial please !!!!!! You are one of only THREE countries who is using it .... THREE !!! All the other 197 uses metric....it drives us engineers nuts, use metric and you will thank yourself later for it.... just 1's and 0's and moving around the comma and decimals that is it.... not a lot of thinking required !!!! If I give you the task to calculate how many bolts I need to fix a long steel structure of let's say 200 meters then you are still busy calculating with your inches and your feet and what not..... while I just shuffed around the comma and done !!!! And then I am already drinking coffee while the bolts are ordered and then I can be busy with the next project that is why you yanks are so behind on productivity you are wasting your time ! Why are you doing that ? Why ????? Nottttttt to mention the really complex constructions.....foreign people especially yanks ask us Dutch allllllll the time : why and how is it that you Dutch are always in the park enjoying yourself hanging around with friends while we yanks need to work 60 hours a week well DING DONG..... I just explained that to you didn't I ? Buttt good teachings, lots of handy stuff, don't go to fast when you want to teach, people who want to learn from you need to be able to follow you without pausing the video 1000 times slow down your steps 12 percent and you are good....... buttttt good work !!! Thumbs up 👍 keep rocking 🤘and be the difference.
