Really? When i picked it up i found it extremely easy to pick up. Im not doubting that it’s hard I’m just shocked that this is the normal reaction because I had to move on to a harder sport because I found fencing easy enough to learn it by myself after taking a few classes.

with different swords you can only hit different spots: saber, you can only hit head and torso. foil, you can only hit body (i think). epi (im not sure if its the right spelling) you can hit anywhere you want, its easier to hit the feet

I'm a fencer and I don't know about it being the world hardest sport. It's certainly one of the most technical, tiring, and unpredictable. But hitting a ball the size of a fist going 100 mph with a wooden bat will always in my mind be harder

one of the main things was that you trained in épée, which is different then what eleanor does, foil. ive hear that foilists make excellent épéeists, but épéeists make bad foilists.

It's much easier to go from foil to épée because in épée there is no rule of priority, while in foil it's one of the most difficult things to master, and it leads to foilists having to be quite creative in the way they launch their attacks. Épéeists on the whole don't tend to be so creative, as they are just looking to hit the closest possible target before their opponent does. Accordingly, when foilists fence épée they will have a lot of tricks up their sleeve which can catch their opponents off guard.

Wresting is the world most physical exsoting sport. Fencing takes technique, so it's not that bad because you dont get a broken nose or califlower ear from it, but wrestling. You also need to be pretty strong
