You are spot on. There are to much youtube videos of people who tell they buy brand A and two month later they change to brand B because of i 1/4 of a stop better dynamic range or samething. I will add one thing in your list, before buying a new camera, learn to use all thing on your existing one, and how to set exposure and which pictures to avoid.

I love lighting. Just finished a 12 light custom kit using Quasar Science Q50-X tubes. Got them band boys on sale at adorama back in May when they were only $105!!! Now they’re back up to 200 per tube. If it’s not lighting I’m stoked on, it’s production design. Then audio then camera. Oh! Thanks for uploading!

Love those tube lights! Thanks for watching!

I enjoy KZbin channels that purposely use cameras from 8 years ago to show how much of a difference lighting makes to a shot.

Great video Tyler! Totally agree with investing in lighting. When I invested in my first 120d it made a huge impact on my work, even more so then when I invested in a cinema camera for sure

I think after seeing you and the room before the lighting and then seeing it after, a few shots of your set up there would have been ideal.

gold mine channel. as is epic light media. what do you think of getting the godox lights instead of the aparture lights? the 300 and 120 equivalents
@TylerEdwards4 жыл бұрын
If budget allows, Aputure all the way. Not only better quality but their sidus link ecosystem is unmatched 👍 skimp on cameras and spend that on lights 😊

@@TylerEdwards i'm going to be a complete arshole and intrude on your goodwill... do you think 3 apetrure 300 m2 and 4 120's are overkill for a studio that wants to shoot interviews and .. music videos, maybe the occasional shortfilm ?

wow very nice tip for having point light. First lights that I have now are two soft boxes which I tend to remove the diffuser of of em if i want a harder light but as you already figured they are pretty wide so I'm thinking of modifying them to focus the light as i don't have the budget for these point lights. If you don't mind tho, can i see your lighting for this video I'm curious?

I'm still saving money to upgrade my two godox sl60ws, but since I've got them, they've been a huge improvement on my videos. Should I now go for 200w? 300w? Greetings from a new subscriber from the south of the world

I don’t know, the first shot had its own flavor/mood for something narrative. But by corporate video standards or general standards, yeah the second shot is better.

completely unrelated but; I'm struggling with whether or not to buy 8mm for my pocket 6k - do you think 8mm will get barreled distortion on pocket 6k? (which is like 1.62 crop or something) cheers!

Not sure as I’ve not tested that lens. I’ve been happy with the tokina 11-16. Plenty wide for my applications.

No wasted time at all. Painting with light is more important than having 16 stops of dynamic range because if you paint wrong it’s gonna look like shit plain and simple

hi, so are you a part of the seacoast church production team or do they contract out work like this to other freelancers?
