nice one -I need to go back and watch the first two. I have no doubt it will be worth it. Does the spot light mod fit on to with godox lights, I have the Iltemonbs LA200? They are bowens compatible I believe, I have three they are the first lights I have owned, I got them yesterday. Great channel thanks.

Very cinematic lighting for this video. By the way, I picked up a couple Aputure light domes, and two sets of barn doors a couple months ago. Love 'em. I'm also getting the Panasonic S5. Exciting times.

Great video! Would you say it’s better to have your key light, for talking head, at its lowest brightness, and your camera at its most open aperture when exposing? Or brighter light, and higher f stop? Which looks best?
@TylerEdwards
@TylerEdwards 4 жыл бұрын
It depends on many factors like how much separation you want the subject from the background or the environment you’re lighting in. Also depends if your camera has autofocus! If set to manual focus, opening that aperture can be tricky if the subject moved around a ton.

Fantastic content, thank you very much for all this. It's great for us that you teach important stuff like technique meanwhile it's bad for you since you don't do product reviews, you have an undervalued follower number on youtube :). But all in all, I'm sure your followers appreciate you more like me. If you can answer a question of mine, I'd be very happy. If you can't, still fantastic content :D. My question is, I have limited space like most of the ethusiasts do. I'm planning to put a softbox in the corner of my room where my laptop table and my camera is. However, deep parabolic softboxes will require much more space. So, for the softboxes, what's the benefit of using a deep, Parabolic Dome one? What'll be the impact If I use a shallow octagon softbox instead of a deep Parabolic dome? Will I obtain a similar output from a shallow octagon softbox as long as surface area is similar?

The reason people want camera reviews is because they don't know how important light & other elements of film are, they only care about resolution & features

I’m so tempted to get that aperture light or save money snd get the vl150 🥺
@stevengonz
@stevengonz 4 жыл бұрын
Just get the VL and spend the money you saved on a c-stand and sandbag. I would even recommend the slw60 if you don't plan on working in hot conditions as I've been experiencing a lot of over heating with mine lately in this LA heatwave
@LouisLuzuka
@LouisLuzuka 4 жыл бұрын
Steven Gonzalez wow thank you so much. So besides the heat, the sl60w is worth it? I’m upgrading from a ring light and I live in Vancouver Canada it’s cold all the time here.
@stevengonz
@stevengonz 4 жыл бұрын
@@LouisLuzuka Its absolutely worth it, especially if you're looking to bounce or diffuse a hard source its definitely bright enough to do both in most situations. My only gripe about it is that the fan is on the front of the light rather than underneath like most lights, so when I used a fresnel attachment in around 80°F, it over heated and turned off every 30 min or so and I had to sit and wait for it to cool back down which wasted a lot of time on set
@LouisLuzuka
@LouisLuzuka 4 жыл бұрын
Steven Gonzalez wow I’m over joyed, I love that, I can’t wait to start building my light setup, I will definitely be diffusing the light 💡 thank you for this comment it’s the best comment I ever received honestly, someone said I would be happier with the vl150 but I would need to save up for that, so I thought okay might as well go all the way than not at all, buy nice rather than buy twice. But then again if I waited, I won’t be spending time learning how to light if I wasn’t using anything. The ring light is better than no light. But now I’m just spilling light everywhere and I’ve thought about just getting a better way of making it softer but it’s so hard fo control without a proper soft box and I’m learning a lot about light is just the shaping of the light 💡 just like in landscape photography you’re chasing the light. So hungry to learn more it’s exactly what I needed, don’t wait. Just get what you can and use it. I just don’t wanna waste my money if it’s not a great light, you’re the best thank u bro !

Tyler Edwards I’m depressed I don’t know what to get anymore , I’m using a really old camera and it’s the eos m I can’t go above 100 iso so I need a lot of light but not harsh light just nice and soft light

How come I can justify spending money 💰 on a new camera snd lens but when it comes to lighting I wanna cut corners, like what’s wrong with me why can’t I take the leap? I’m justifying getting the sl60w for $100 and save money or get the vl150 instead of a 120d or 300d but I can easily justify an eos R and 15-35mm lens as a good purchase 🤣🥺😭😭😭😭can you explain it to me like I’m 5 years old I’m so frustrated with this mindset
