Having voiced Garvey for Dormitabis back when I was in the early years of High School (Possibly Sophomore, I couldn't tell you in particular) even I was aware of how horrible the plot point of Suzie's rape and murder was. Back when I was sent the lines to voice and saw that I was meant to explicitly state that he had assaulted her sexually, I outright refused to state it as it was written. I even remember getting an email back after sending in that voice recording being asked if I could read the line as it was written, which I immediately refused to do. Since I was incredibly young at the time I was too blinded by the concept of getting to voice in a cool new and anticipated FNaF Fangame that I had believed I should instead only imply it through differing wording, which of course did not make it any better lmao. And hearing you call him a self-insert really did hit me in the soul in a way I did not expect, because after all this time I had somehow not found those exact words to describe it. I'm glad that the plot point was trashed and rubbed into the dirt in the way it deserved to be, even if it unfortunately overshadowed all the other talent that went into making the game possible. So thank you for keeping attention on that awful mistake of story writing so that it may not be repeated. Great video man!

Admittedly, I’d never heard about the Nicchi situation until now, and it’s absolutely horrible. I remember watching Dawko’s playthrough of Dormitabis a while back and being so unsettled about the SA plot point, especially being a victim of it myself, but learning what the dev did makes it even worse. On top of that, I could hear the genuine pain in your voice, and it just shook me to my core. I’m probably never going to even touch Dotmitabis after the fuckery I just learned about.

i think my favorite series of fangames is the dsaf series. it's funny, and the "true endings" were actually amazing. hell, dsaf 2's true ending made me tear up. it was the first fucking game i cried at. (if that sounds baby-ish, it's because i had only played non story-driven games, and i also watched an 8-bitgaming video on the true ending when i was like 9.) luckily though the second game i ever cried at was red dead redemption 2 (multiple times lmao) so i think that cancels it out

Also I am very happy you mentioned Andiematronic, they are one of the best FNAF KZbinrs imo, each of their videos have so much effort put into them and are very unique, I never see them brought up. While I was using it long ago, Scratch eventually had to add some guidelines to those fangames due to the jumpscares and how schools were blocking the site because it had fangames. God damn, that's a very solid video all around, a great way to go down memory lane and have a nice little nostalgia trip. We've went through so much as a community and all the stories, good and bad, are definitely all worth of being well kept and looked after. I'll admit, there are a few topics in this iceberg which I wasn't even aware of before watching: I didn't know Grizzly's was a thing before watching the video (I was honestly kind of away from the community when that fangame rolled around), I didn't know Jolly was considered for the Fazbear Fanverse Initiative before watching the video. I found it's a video that has a nice and smooth tempo and you don't see time passing by while watching and listening. I'll have to admit, I had NO IDEA of what the hell was going on with Dormitabis: I just thought people said the lore fucking sucked in the same way that people said the TRTF lore fucking sucked (which, on that matter, TRTF: The Dreadful Truth remains such a dumb fucking way to expose the lore and when I tell people about it, they genuinely can't think it's true or they straight up burst out laughing, which is understandable despite the lore being somewhat ok to begin with.) but no, boy was I far from the truth. Thanks for shining some light on that, appreciate it! You are very right when saying the first actual fangame was overshadowed, but if we're being blunt and brutally honest, it really stretches the definition of a fangame ngl.

As for C.A.S.E. Animatronics there's a pretty good way to explain it. It's the same as the RE4 and OG Dead Space situation. Visceral Games looked at RE4 and thought it looks good, so they made their own game using some inspiration from that legendary Capcom game while making it very much an entirely different experience. I'm not done watching the whole video yet, but the part where you covered 5 nights with 39 and put examples of youtubers who played it just unlocked a core memory! I know Mark but the other guy:EthGoesBOOM I discovered and used to watch that guy when I was like 11-13 back in FNAF'S first 4 years. For the longest time I couldn't remember what his channel name was. I loved how he basically role-played as the fnaf animatronics who had they're own voices that he would do. It was like a puppet show and the animatronics would react to things or discuss new games or pieces of lore. Every animatronic in the video was just Eth doing a voice but I found it so entertaining/funny back then! Giving the characters voices and personalities like people was unheard of way back before UCN, and I found him entertaining and the love for the games was clearly felt in each new upload. I wonder if he's still doing that content. Because of Eth I will always imagine FNAF 1 Bonnie having a comically southern accent

I guess I am a FNaF expert, as cringe as it sounds honestly, considering how I haven't knew only like 7 things in this Iceberg, and I even have some of the removed fangames (Jolibees Demo-2, Running in the 80s (nope, no virus for me), some removed FNaS games...). Pretty good video broski, even if I honestly don't consider the concept of Iceberg videos itself as high quality. Also, holy damn, the final thing. I absolutely love Dormitabis and 100%'d it like 3 times, yet somehow I have never noticed the Purple guy being a rapist stuff, and I have never seen anything related to Blackout before, this guy is the literal worst kind of person that I've ever heard of, unironically. I respect the work he has put into the game, besides the obvious part, but just damn how can people like this exist... 45:52 My man Nikson was seriously stating facts back then. Those were just fun to make since my 10 year old self didn't know how to use Clickteam till I was 11 lol. Sorry for posting twice but here is a 1 year scratch fnaf dev here. What I can say about it is that, welllll it can be tedious having to bugfix and all that. Without something like an errors console you have to go through every sprite and find the variables that need to be changed. I end up not bug checking my games because i usually stay up all night (When I could) developing games that get no attention at all. My friends hate me for only making fnaf fan games and excluded me from the schoolwide coding competition just because of that. I don't like scratch but Its really hard learning a new engine and most of them cost upwards of 100 bucks. I've stopped with the fangames and I'm releasing my final installment to my favorite game series (One Night In Mcdonalds 5) I need to do a shitton of tutorials to figure out how I could do multiple endings but half of the things that people say about scratch, they are right. Its really hard to perfect a game on scratch and its really good that there is a mod named turbo warp becuz you get stuff like a custom resolution (GOD FORBID THE KIDS MAKE GAMES ON 1280x720 CANVAS!) I'm attempting to get clickteam fusion to make fangames but I'm just about to leave the community. Scratch dev- out

I like the dormitabis story because it's shows a awful, horrible simply evil man getting what he deserves by being put in purgatory. I hate nicchi and I want Emil to kill him but I just can't help myself but love the story because it's the only game I have seen that really shows how horrible child rape and murder is. It leaves me uncomfortable everytime and makes me hate the main charachter which is a good thing. Lord knows people would have found a reason to sympathize with him and making it so clear what he did stops that from happening. I still hope it was actually nicchi in purgatory but it's a damn good game and I'm not gonna stop liking it just because the creator deserves to die.
