Hey Tyler, thanks to you we went to Ivie. It was a cooler overcast 2 days and we slayed them. Couple of 5 lb bass and lots of 3’s and 4’s. What a unique lake. We live in Fort Worth. Love all of your vids. Bruce Hampton.

Would love to see a video of you analyzing and breaking down a lake. Specifically, Toledo Bend. The largest lake in our largest state. Where to fish this body of water and what to use. From your 10K view down to your boat on the water and what’s in it.

A few days ago I was getting so frustrated. I was making horrible casts. I literally ran out of hooks and weights getting stuck all the time mostly at the same spot. Ended up packing up and leaving pretty upset. Definitely will start taking breaks here and there whenever I have another day like that one because just like in life, shit happens sometimes. Thanks Tyler, you've definitely helped me catch bass and become a better angler. And most importantly I can share what I've learned from you with others.

Worst thing you can do if you're having a sour trip is convince yourself to keep going if you don't want to, it just turns the hobby into a job. Always be sure to take breaks so rods don't end up in the water :)

Tyler, lift the pedal drive without releasing the clips that hold the drive down. Put the plate (cover) back down, Then let the peddle drive rest on the plate (cover). No need to remove the drive. Also, don't use the clip behind the pedal drive. This will allow the drive to come up if you are to run into something. Bungees hold the drive plate (cover) so often the drive will come up and come back down as long as the clip behind the drive is not pushed in.

Jon B: The drive issue alone is why Hobbie mirage drive is the way to go. These prop driven drives are way to bulky for shallow waters . Not that hobbie is perfect, but it's way better then a prop drive.

As a kayak only angler, this video was funny and informative! Speaking of preparedness, I travel a lot with my kayak and I recently bought a second set of NRS straps. I was taking the boat off the other day and thought, what would I do if one of these straps broke while traveling!

I've been kayak fishing from Hobie PA12's for 7+ yrs,. That's only fishing I do is from my yak. You always need your paddle in any kayak! I haven't had chance to try the prop style pedal drive yaks yet. The mirage drives will hug bottom of the kayak & now also have break away fins so u can run way shallower & if u do hit something you won't mess them up. I've upgraded to PA12 360 a year ago it's great for positioning in current & wind. With rivers I go upstream then come back down to my truck later so I can go anywhere whenever & not need to involve someone else to have me picked up. With Hobie running up current is a breeze but I've been peddling these guys for so long they never wear me out. Definitely need to be prepared also keep in mind less is more on a yak to much crap will become a pain!!!

Well, you have yet to learn lesson #4. *Never hand your wife a potential assault weapon*, while you are left defenseless, in the middle of a river with no means of escape. She could have easily paddled circles around you, taking advantage of the situation, flailing away about your head and shoulders. "Whack, that's for never putting the seat down, whack, that's for what you said about my mother", etc. In all seriousness, like most of us, you out-kicked your coverage. Pretty lady. Become a bass fishing couple and create a KZbin niche that may dramatically increase subscribers. I know of only one KZbin fishing couple (in Arkansas) and they get a lot of loyal female viewers.
