For the space food tubes, it says on their website to warm the tube in hot water for 3-4 minutes. Now if it actually makes a difference, I have no idea.

You are supposed to COOK the MRE pizza Tyler, using the MRE flameless heater if you have it. It is supposed to be one of the better MRE meals, at least it was when I was in the Army.

I've never had Russian space MREs, but the US ones are worthy good. The US used to use the gelatinized paste like that, but teame duo with Canada a while back and created freeze-dried meals, similar to what modern survivalist MREs are. They are far lighter than the tubes despite taking up more volume and are both healthier and safer for the ship, as the crumbs can be vacuumed out of the air. The freeze-dried ice cream bar was a favorite ISS dessert of famed Canadian Astronaut Chris Hatfield.

Should just be a teaspoon full of each. I recall many years ago my friend had a party he did some food but after a few hours that was almost all gone. I decided (as there was nothing else left) to make cat food sandwiches.....everyone loved them i told them it was chicken paste (they really did ask for more but he had no bread left). I didn't try it myself but it was very popular.

This food COULD be made to taste good. When I was a kid, I had an accident where my jaw had to be wired shut. My parents went to McDonald's and my mom took my meal and put each individual item and in a food processor with distilled water. I drank it through a straw. The stuff tasted great. She made a lot of other meals like this but I specifically remember the McDonald's tasting like I wasn't missing out.

My nana cans bacon by frying it and wrapping it in paper towel then putting it in a glass jar and sealing it. It turns into a jerky type bacon and stays good for a long long time. So good.
