Hi, Bunny, no hate or negative feedback but the “vroom like a motorcycle” movement is in the exact opposite direction of what you are doing. You have to move your wrist backward, not forward. I have this curling wand and it does take a bit of practice to get it right. I love your videos, you are amazing. Keep being so authentic. You are the best!

Totally agree! Haha I’m always rooting for her & know she struggles with the straighter curl method. But as soon as I did it once, it’s my favorite way to curl. It took me a few tries to get it. Especially learning each side. It’s awkward but flip the other way! And keep flipping. I’ve learned sometimes you gotta keep twisting!

Okay so when I went to cosmetology school in 2013 in NV they required 1500 hours supervised practice with a curling iron/hot tools. So there's an expected learning curve. I think you're actually doing great 🙂👍

I so want to see you try an electric De Marcel type curling iron. I feel like watching you learn how to do the fancy state board requirement "figure 8" would actually teach me how to do it. I can't get it from the tutorial videos, but I've learned how to do things by watching YOU learn how to do it. You're the best teacher for my brain, I swear

LMAO, I lost at 8:50 with the serious look and "towards smooth, towards head....and....VROOM LIKE A MOTORCYCLE!" followed by your look of horror as you are turning your hair into rice crispies. With that said, try not to be too hard on yourself with not getting new things right the first time, there is always a learning curve with new devices no matter how experienced you are.

Just put it in a low ponytail? With no extra pressure? Why do you think you need to “pull it” too much? No way you can just have your hair back without doing it in a ponytail or a bun. Or use a headband.

ive never used this tool before but i think she has to pay attention to the lip on the side of the want with the light. similar to the clamp on an old fashion curler her hand/wrist has to curl in the same direction as the lip. at 15:33 the lip of the wand is perpendicular to the hair and the curl turns out "crispity crunchity" where as at 7:49 you can really clearly see the hair is parallel to the lip. I really wish i had the darn thing purely to see if im right and to try to figure it out if im wrong.

You need to follow the barrel direction with the rest of the hair... What you're doing wrong is twisting the barrel in one direction and wrapping the rest of your hair around the barrel in the opposite direction. You did it perfectly at 17:40 follow the barrel direction when wrapping the hair 😄

Push the wand in the direction the hair Is wrapped. So once you’ve wrapped the hair back, push the wand backwards not towards your face because that’s just locking your hair & creating tension.

You can get perfect ringlets with a straightener if you go with your front piece on your right side, put the straightener on the hair with your thumb facing to the right, then twist your hand holding the straightener around towards your body 'till your thumb is facing downwards whilst moving the straightener down slow-ish, and don't place the lower part of your hair over the top of the straightener, you don't need to have your arms up for it, or pull the hair forward too much.

What helps me is your hair flips in the direction your vrooming. A rule of thumb is curl away from your face also when your curling flick your wrist one way and flip your hair in that direction continue to curl until your hair is coming out of the bottom of the straightener and you see it. Watch straightening curling for more inspiration. Hope it helps.

FLIP IT AWAY FROM YOUR FACE! Open side up! Not down. ❤️ ❤️ I will agree. It is a talent to curl with a straightener. However, as soon as you get the right twist , it’s my favorite! I only curl with a straightener and I suck with a curling iron or wand. 😆 so i am always here rooting for you when you’re trying to curl with a straighter. It’s possible, just flip the wrist backwards. Pretty curls are directed backwards from the face. Away from the face. Same with this tool. ❤️ I can hardly even explain how though either bc it is a technique. Sooo picture this is the tool - V - point the tool upwards. Flip away from the face. (Keep twisting back like a curling Iron, ) and pull down , alllll at the same time.
