Gold Panning in the United Kingdom in the stunning Scottish Highlands. There is a modern day Gold Rush in the UK with a new gold mine in town at the Connonish mine site. On this trip we visit Tyndrum where there is gold in abundance ! . If you are into gold panning videos then this might be just for you. .
I am a gold prospecting film maker where my aim is to share my experiences with you, and more importantly to give you a honest account of what I find.
thank you for watching MrDazP1.....

Hello Gary and thanks for the comments. If you can pop over to Scotland you will always be finding gold many locations like Leadhills, Wanlockhead etc. You could try the river Coquet or the rivers in the Northern Pennines near Nenthead. I would research why the Romans wanted to settle near Vindolanda too (Just a thought) The best thing about prospecting is to try your luck on any nearby river or stream and find the bedrock with cracks in it or where the gravels are covering the bedrock.

That's a good question. The first thing you have to consider is how far you are prepared to hike with the equipment because it's really hard going. It's a massive mountain after all. www.goldpanningsupplies.co.uk/index.php/gold-pans-kits/gold-panning-kits this link is usually a good one but the shop might be closed at present. Leadhills is always a good place to start. As for hints and tips I would practice with a pan at home with some lead fishing weights and good old dirt to learn how the materials move and how the heavy particles stay in the bottom of the pan. I would also watch tutorials on KZbin ( I have a few) but be mindful of the American ones because they will find nuggets on every session. The reality of prospecting is also learning to read a river on the move. There will be a gold line some where and if you are not on it a good river could appear pretty naff. You might want to check out DT prospecting channel too. Any more advice just ask ....

@anarchist 5 жыл бұрын
@@martin096 he said "renewable _panning_" -- presumably the idea being that he is panning for fun, not for profit, so the gold is returned to the river so other people can partake in the hobby. The natural processes by which the gold becomes available in the stream bed take much longer than the human processes to extract it so if the gold was not returned it would become depleted at that location and the hobby would be less sustainable.

But on a serious note I went up to the wigwams to stay with me friends and I said on the second day this steam next to our huts has loads of gold in it, my friend said no chance 😒 I literally walked over to the stream and picked up some sand from under a stone and walked back to my friends and said here's some gold.... 3 tiny little flecks of gold 👏🏼 the looks on their face 🤣 There is GOLD everywhere in Scotland 👍🏼

this guy clearly knows his stuff, and has a good instinct to know where the colour is hiding... I'd love to know the value of what he's found, and whether it has been worth his time finding it... there have been times when the flood waters were much higher, areas which won't have been panned already, with gold locked in with nowhere to go... climate change is maybe being kind to gold diggers, giving them other areas to look at. Be clever, think about where gold might have settled in cracks and crevices 10,000 years ago, not in recent years which have all been panned to death. I have a JCB to hire, £300/day with 50% finders fee on all gold recovered.

Hello from Illinois, liked and subbed. How does the law work for prospecting in the UK? Can individuals prospect on public or crown land? I imagine most land is privately owned, is there any public right to prospect law? Do mining and mineral claims have to be posted? I must say I am surprised at how much color you found in that creek.

Thanks so much for subscribing to my channel. You can get permits for some locations in the UK and for other locations the agencies have turned a blind eye over recent years but things are changing more and more as people take up the hobby. There is a mine in full operation at this location and likewise in Wales. Ireland has another project in full swing no too. It's quite surprising to learn about how much gold the UK has revealed over the centuries. The Romans mined the hell out of the place and for many other natural resources. I have met fellow prospectors who have found some really nice pieces ! All the best form this side of the wold buddy and take care.

Great question, I work full time to earn a living. In my spare time I like to film my hobbies for which I earn no money from at all. I think KZbin is a valuable tool to share experiences and help others out on literally, you name it - anything. The reward for making a video like this , with no script, no real plan and not even knowing if there will be any gold to show at the end is all part of the fun. I often joke about the thought of recieving a £1 for every view, I could earn a small fortune. But sadly that's not the case. There's no money in this game unless you become a full-time KZbinr and sell your soul to media giants, which to me is not what I want. As for the gold, it will have some value per gram maybe £50 - £100 but if it was that easy to find we'd all be doing it. I don't sell the few specs I do find , it just makes for a great subject to film. Thanks again for the great question buddy.

I would drive up the main road out of town on the A82 for about 10 mins, over the crest of the hill and then turn left on the B8074. That's the Orchy. Find a layby, walk to a section of the river and look for bedrock slabs. Scrape the cracks thoroughly and any gravels in bigger crevices, take your time panning and you should find gold there. If not walk past the GreenWelly over the footbridge, there's gold in that stream all the way up.👍

Awesome work bro! You have a lot of the same style when it comes to drone videography as I do! Love it. Sweet adventure and location, and of course the shiny in the pan! Keep it up and thanks for taking us along. New Sub

Cheers Mayhem P, the drone really adds that little extra touch to the videos when you are trying to tell the story. I use a DJI Crystal monitor for the connection to the drone via a clever little mount which looks really neat. I will check your channel out too.

Do you know what estate owns this land looking at getting permission and can't work it out? Gold panning isn't under the rights to roam I presume. Cheers for any help. Great video

I'm not sure Rhys but most people just rock up here and pan, as I did , just make sure you go up enough so as not to bother the locals. Try the campsite too as they advertise panning in the river on their website.

Kind of new to this so was wondering, are there any rules or regulations to be aware of when going prospecting? Am I able to search without a permit or do you need permission? Thanks
@MrDazP1adv3ntures
@MrDazP1adv3ntures 3 жыл бұрын
Hello Dave, It's all a bit of a grey area, There are some locations where you can prospect with permission and others appear to be more relaxed. I would always advise that you look at the British Gold panning association website or further details.

In the late eighties BP had a team prospecting not a million miles from there. They found a discreet deposit that was nearly economic not least for the rare earths found in association. Lots of mineralisation all around Argyll.

I can believe it Robin. The gold mine is just around the corner from here too and Tyndrum was relying on it to help boost the local economy.

I bet it was impressive Lew, that place must move some gold down the valley every year. I'm just putting the final touches to a Leadhills video. I didn't find a lot but learned a lot about the place. Basically I need to live down the road and keep working the same spot every week.
