@kanewwf136 жыл бұрын
This song was meant to be performed by Type O. IMO, the Lo-Fi quality only seasons the track with a certain damp, foggy yet psychodelic athmosphere. The "Window's echo" part SLAYS. Those chords make my face melt every fuckin time (and the rest of the body and soul as well). Never thought a couple of chords in major scale could sound THAT heavy. "Love You to Death"s "Am I good enough" instrumental part reference there can be easily recognized, which is awesome, and in the end ("You in the sky") - the slightly changed "Can't Lose You" bassline, which is even more awesome (that massive tone and the upwards-slided note in the passage before going an octave up kill me every time), it fits the cover fantastically. Mankind used to have only one band who could turn a bubblegum pop anthem into a BONE CRUSHING version in their own unique style and furthermore easter-egg it with two own masterpieces - those are Type O Negative. RIP the Green Man, one of a kind. No one will ever have anything on this man's approach to the bass guitar. The most badass things that could have been done with this instrument were done exactly by Peter Steele. Nuff said.

Missing Peter Steele and Type O Negative. Saw them in concert 3x not near enough. Have all their music and listen to it often and it comforts me. I still can't believe he's gone. I got 2 close people I worked with as a Funeral Director into Type O, and my older brother went to all 3 shows once I got him hooked which wasn't hard. He was amazing💔 that voice the lyrics the band...unforgettable. P.S. I forgot to mention when I was embalming or picking up the deceased I tried to put on the type of music from their era, or what I "felt" they would like. My Gram died at 101, the same day as Peter. I took care of her entire funeral except the call, I was in the hospital emergency surgery, but asked to leave early to help embalm her. Listened to some Irish music she was from Ireland, and some Type O for Peter. I listened to him quite often embalming younger people that looked into his music. Sometimes I just needed it to get through. I would pray to the person with utmost respect, always and treat them as a family member with dignity that was an honor I took very seriously. I miss my career it was a calling to help people. But I got sick chronically Ill diseases I'm fighting daily it blows , and injuries debilitated and but anyhow I would change to Pink Floyd Division Bell, or any Floyd or The Cure or the Metallica Death Magnetic had come out it was like their old sound and rocked. I listen to a large range just not country, only Johnny Cash. I wish Peter covered Ozzy's "Fire in the Sky" my favorite Ozzy song.
