I want this! But $3000...I wonder when the competition will start making copy’s of this for a lower price. Still pretty cool. Hondata is awesome

number is completely inline with every other direct injection platform.

Sorry to break it to you man. If the price of the fuel upgrade is holding you back you are not ready to make that kind of power, because you will spend a lot more than that fixing broken parts.
@Busse81195 жыл бұрын
Khalid Fathallah You’re probably right, bolt one and a tune is probably the farthest I’ll go with the car. It would just be cool to have that extra fuel capability. I mean don’t get me wrong, I know once you go into the higher stages of tuning, the price goes up. I just can’t justify with my wife why I’m buying a 3000 dollar fuel pump
@khalidfathallah66195 жыл бұрын
RobbieB If you’re just looking for the option to have a little bit more fueling $3000 is too much try looking at 4 Pistons racing. They have a high-pressure fuel pump only that could probably get you around 450 wheel horsepower it goes for 1500 but be careful with torque

How much more improvement on 92 octane?

Will this work on the CV2 accord since its basically almost same as the fk8 2.0 as longblock

Will this work with other tuning solutions or only Hondata? Thanks!

Hi Doug, I own a 2018 CTR and am looking to get into the performance upgrade scene. I have been reading about fuel types for the FK8 engine and Honda strongly recommends against using anything above e10 fuel. Will using flexfuel (e85) long term cause damage to the engine? Will similar gains be achieved using high octane fuel with the fuel line upgrade and tune? Thanks!
@John_the_baptized5 жыл бұрын
Luca D I’m speaking with no experience in the FK8, but I don’t think e85 would cause issues with the engine, but maybe gunk up the HPFP in the long term. Mazdaspeed3’s have an issue with long term corn usage with the HPFP, IIRC HPFP=high pressure fuel pump

can the rods handle that much power?? i keep hearing that rods will bend @ 400hp....not even sure if they mean 400whp or 400 crank.
@steveb39144 жыл бұрын
Its torque not horse power. 600nm is the upper limit, that is achievable at about 400bhp, but there are those running 550bhp but still 600nm.
@TheFK8Life2 жыл бұрын
450wtq is the safe zone to stay in Im making 547whp and 436wtq aka 620bhp on stock motor, stock clutch and stock exhaust. About to beta test a larger drop in turbo for the community so you can push over 600whp on stock block without having to upgrade to an entire G series kit. This is on Hondata iand direct injection only...no meth, no port injection and no need for a $7000 motec ecu package to control it

@@aaron3378 4Piston said that they started bending rods at 400 HP
@chanhuor5 жыл бұрын
@@subarashiisugoi8655 that's because of torque spike. The car has so much torque it bends forged rods. So in theory if you have a good tuner you wont have this problem.

$2700 on a Mazdaspeed3, which weighs the same, FWD, and is 10years older, gets you full bolt-ons, not just the fuel pump internals, and you also make 400whp on a dynojet. 290whp dynojet is 317hp dynapack, as 390whp dynojet is 428hp dynapack. Same thing basically, but soooooo much cheaper. Mazda and Cobb Tuning, did what Honda and Hondata did, 10years prior. Welcome to 10years ago. Edit: Not that I don't have an admiration for the Type-R. Such a perfectly balanced daily, with all the modern creature comforts. Can't say that about a Mazdaspeed3. Edit2: Lets summarize the discussion and simply state... The Type-R is best left without being made a straight line monster. It's better as a super handling car with the power it has, or with just FlashPro and E40. That amount of extra power is already overkill for a super handling car. Fuel upgrades for $2.7K is not worth it in my book. Think about it, straight line FWD monster (Mazdaspeed3 for $10K w/400whp), or super handling (Type-R with possibly just flashpro and E40)?

Had 1 sold to a kid. Torque steer on a speed3 in the 400 range makes it an import viper... Just waiting to go sideways and wreck

@@clintpopham5691 Beautiful. Luv that. Crude and wild, for dirt cheap. That's why I said, welcome to 10years ago, and I still admire the Type-R. It's 10years prior to the current in technology, etc etc. You can go out and buy a Speed3 with all the potential for dirt cheap, make it as fast as a maxxed out Type-R stock turbo for dirt cheap, and it's also a super reliable car, just watch out for torque steer without the Ford Revonuckle, GM Hiper-strut, or Honda Dual-Axis. Another car, that doesn't have this, is the 2.0T Honda Accord. You could also go buy an Accord 2.0T and do the same, but also expensive, with or without the special suspension. I personally, can't decide which I like better, the Accord for so much cheaper than the Type-R, or the Type-R. Weight is 150lbs difference, so that's not the issue.
@mikea52055 жыл бұрын
2 major problems with your theory.....a) nobody gives a shit about the speed3 b) the speed3 isn't a Type R. People always make comparisons like this. If bang for your buck power is your goal then your definitely looking in the wrong place. I say this with no disrespect to you at all, it's just the truth. P.S. - I still think $2,700 is outrageous but I have no knowledge of how many hours went into R&D.
