Here is my typical week in the life of a UWC Costa Rica student. I'm a second year at UWCCR. I hope this can give you a better understanding of what it's like to attend a United World College and more specifically the UWC in Costa Rica.

I am an Indian so after 12th grade at uwc Can I study my mbbs over there in any university without writing NEET(an entrance exam which every indians who wants to study mbbs must write even if u want to study at abroad)

How do you get money so you can buy things there,do your parentssend you or do you find a job(I rly don't know how colleges work but I need to know so I can go next year)

You go with a student visa so you cannot work and even if you could legally, with an IB you will not hav e time apart from the fact that it is not common for them to let you leave campus, so yes, your parents cover your pocket money, although there are scholarships that cover pocket money, it all depends if they give you a 100% scholarship or not (sorry for the bad inglish, it is not my native language)

Hi savannah, i know you posted this a long time ago. I've just been offered a place there and the mst mundane things r worrying me. I wanted to ask how you guys did basic things like laundary and basic self care stuff?

well first of all congrats!! ofc ill do my best to answer your questions:) it depends on the uwc you were admitted to & im sure things have changed since ive been but we had a laundry room and decent bathrooms. what exactly are you worried about?

thank u so much for answering! I’ve been given a place at UWC CR and I’m just worried about how to manage looking after myself like washing my clothes and basics like bathrooms and keeping the residences clean. I wanted to know if the school provides support bc I know how icky common living spaces can get and hygiene can be hard to maintain. Ig I rlly wanted to know how u took care of ur physical health there. Thank you for answering

ofc! it was no issue at all. there are cleaners that come by and clean the common spaces and bathroom every day (not to mention maintain the entire campus-they’re wonderful). and then in terms of personal health, i used to do the weekly yoga classes they provided weekly, i used the headspace meditation app (only $10 /year for students), journaled a lot, made amazing friends i could always chat to. and then as far as product, i brought most of my skincare bits from home but there were lots available locally (many incredible artisans that create natural soaps and other products in costa rica!) but yes overall super easy

What brand of laptops they gave you there?

you're not given a laptop unless you have a full scholarship. and it's only lent to you during your actual studies. i'm not 100% sure on the brand. definitely something you can contact the school directly about :)

Comme ci comme ca - Stephane Legar he's an Israeli singer and his parents are from Togo, so his songs are often a mix of Hebrew and French, which is perfect for my friend Noam and I 😊

yes! i had classmates who were 20 and 21 when they arrived

So you can go out of school It's not a must to stay at school all the time
