How do Tyranids create new from biomass? All I can find is they melt any creature or plant down to a soup of biomass and then use it. Never found the how part. I can find that there's a certain type(forgot name now) that lays the new and decides how they will look etc, but just can't find much on the how of it and I'm curious especially with the ships cos the "mother" Tyranids are aboard the ships that are created by them

I like the idea of the Tyranids being a contingency measure created by the old ones to essentially act as a back up of all life in the galaxy, by consuming and archiving all DNA, to save it from, and also destroy the Necrons. It's insinuated that the destruction of the Pharos beacon, a Necron artifact, acted as a signal to enact the plan

In headphones the voice is so grating and overpowering that it feels like what I'd imagine conversing with a Tyranid Hive Mind would be. Their voice pressing in on your head. Grating, slightly painful and just overpowering. Immersion is 100% on this one and I can't tell if its a good or bad thing.

God i love this video, it's so good and really puts into perspective how much of a threat Tyranids are. They're not animals with some vague distant Hivemind. The Hivemind is an eldritch abomination, a god in it's own right. Even Chaos itself is easier to comprehend than Tyranids. Tyranids cannot be reasoned with, there is no innate humanity nor reason to appeal to. Tyranids are just what they are, they are the embodiment of the Imperium's fear of the xeno

I would love for a book following a detachment of guard/marines who fight off a splinter tendril which used swarm tactics, only for them to pursue it and it completely alters tack, like suddenly there are no gaunts, only rank after rank of highly specialised warriors, I think it'd be a cool demonstration of the nids' adaptability

More or less, what ended up happening was, the tyranids finally ended up defeating nurgle's forces on a planet that was infected, right? A Hive ship began to consume the biomass on the planet and visibly shuddered, and the other Hive ships turned on it and destroyed it to prevent the spread of infection.

A while ago I was thinking that other fantasy games always tend to have a Nature/Life faction. Druids, Dryads, Treants, beasts/animals, green foresty themes etc. I was wondering why 40k didn't have a nature faction, only they do. I have another speices that maybe more of the bane of the Tyranids than the Necromorphs. There's this Movie called 'The Stuff' and yes that's even the of the product sold in markets. Now the Stuff is a parasite that looks like 'Ice Cream' and self replecates by either slowly by itself or being consumed by humans even a dog had eatten it and had the same effects on humans. At first when you take just a bite of the Stuff it tastes good and you would probably would like to eat more later, but after eatten it enters the brain without being acttualy digested through the blood stream, theortically the Stuff might start jabbing the pleasure section for more stuff or hypnosis IDK to eat more of the stuff. And Then that's whan your screwed as you just everything you eat will be the Stuff and the stuff is above else it will either colonize in your body, when threatened and in groups of those infected with the Stuff will eject the Stuff in order to mass up and attack as a single entity to choke others with itself to death or even if you do survive the Mass itself you would of already ate enough stuff to under it's control. Now imagine if Tyranids ate this 'Stuff'.

If this was made cannon that somehow a psycher got this from the shadow in the warp or an inquisitor got this from a hive tyrant's brain hooked up to a speaker box. This would fix everything I dislike about the bugs. I like the zerg more as they have a motive and belief more complex than "I'm a bit peckish." Yeah if it was ever a choice between a Hive Fleet and jumping naked into the den of a Keymind. Which is itself a further evolution of a Flood Gravemind. I'm jumping stark naked into that Keymind Den 100%! Mainly cuz I just have a beyond massive fear of being eaten alive by anything. So if I'm jumping naked into a Keymind's Den it'll probably be the Flood Spores that get me not the Fleshy Party Poppers. But also because at least with the Flood and a Keymind in particular. There's at least ample evidence in Halo's Lore that the essence of one's consciousness survives on some level. With the Spess Locusts however that's most definitely not that case by any stretch of anyone's imagination.
