Gen 5 actually has a great spread of bug pokemon. I would even say it may have the best bug pokemon. If there was one that is a little underwhelming that could be made more interesting it would have to be Crustle.

When he said Gen 5 my mind insantly went for the Sewaddle line, but Whirlipede could be a future form and be like the bike from Yugi-Oh 5D. Volcoona makes a bit more sense imo cuz it was treated like almost a mythical like Zoroark was in the anime.

I doubt Volcarona would get one. As Volcarona is an ancient pokemon in itself with it being found in a area in the desert resort/ old castle in Bw and BW2... with it being in a room with the time that passed show a decrypted room in a dungeon like area in a castle which sand is pouring in it. Dormant in the area only to not awaken but to spring to action when you the player find it.

5:15 wasn't the beta pre-evolution for girafarig Twinz, the normal/ghost type? maybe they're reusing that general concept as for the pseudo time warp, I think dragapult is the most likely candidate of the list, since it used to be a regular dragon Pokémon before becoming a ghost in the present time if I remember right

nah dragapult is too new to pokemon for it to get a form. we think its ttar and salamence bc of the trailer showing a larvitar and bagon being traded and theres only 4 pseudos in the game being those two, the gen 9 pseudo, + 1 more which could be dragonite bc u can see a dratini fountain in the reveal trailer.

1. The gen 1 water pokemon that crawls from sea to the land might be either magikarp or seaking, getting four fins that act like limbs, as a reference to Tiktaalik, a Devonian fish which is seen as a transitional form between fish and tetrapods. If it's seaking the horn could even reference the first attempts at dinosaur paleoart with stuff like Iguanodon mistakenly being portrayed as having a horn on its nose. 2. An ostrich and a flamingo pokemon in the same gen, since they both have long legs and necks maybe it's a split evolution of a little ornithomimid-looking dinosaur trying to fill an ecological niche and going either to dry land (ostrich) or to water (flamingo)? Would be interesting if there was a flying split evo as well representing birds that spend most of their time flying, like raptors and swifts.

I remember goodra "came out of its shell", thats why it looks happier and more expresive than it's past counterpart, so I guess the past/future versions may get a change according to some of their themes, salamence's preevos wanted to fly, so a future vertion could go even further, like space, imagine a satellite themed salamence, or maybe comet themed one

As for time warped forms, I would like to see a Shelgon that becomes a Salamence who simply rejected/abandoned their genetic will/dream of flying. Maybe something more landlocked of that it swims... maybe a RFake that actually has Gon in the name like Flygon & Hydreigon. Dragonite deserves a Water one tho, we see a fountain statue of Dratini, in RGBY they are reeled in the Safari Zone with Fishing Rods and their Japanese name (Kairyu) literally means "Ocean Dragon".

i think the "crawling from sea to the lands" is dragonite. the dragonite eovlution line except itself seems to be connected to the seas, then it just somehow becomes dragonite out of noowhere. i think that in the past it was a pokemon that fully lived in the seas and 1 day crawled out, and thats how the dragonite evolution line was born. so the true RFake is the dragonite we knew of.

The jump in design from Dragonair to Dragonite suggests there’s been some natural evolution over time to create such a difference in its present looks. So for me I think a past Dragonite that looks more similar to Dragonair could work. Also it would reference fan speculation that’s been made along with the Venomoth / Butterfree design switch theory

Crawls from sea to land sounds like we are talking a water type, but the type of the Pokemon is not mentioned. That being said, it is also worth noting some tortoises crawl from sea to land to lay their eggs, which puts the Squirtle line in view as a possible clue.

I think Dragapault might get a past form or Dreepy line as a whole gets one. Dreepy’s Pokédex in Sword says the Pokémon was “… reborn as a ghost and wanders the areas it used to inhabit back when it was alive in prehistoric seas.”

I think Dragapult will get an RF (past form) because its' Pokedex entry states that it was a prehistoric creature ressurrected into a ghost. Also, Dragapult is based on the extinct amphibian Diplocaulus that lived during the Carboniferous Period in the Paleozoic era.

My money is on Dragonite and Hydreigon, and here's why: I believe Khu said you can guess some gen1 mons' new forms from memes, and Dragonite has a prominent Spanish meme. Dragonite also hasn't gotten like, ANY love since gen1. Hydreigon I think might get some type of Mecha Ghidorah future form, and in large part due to Hydreigon's original concept being a tank dragon. Duraludon was also introduced last gen as a Mecha Godzilla, and Ghidorah is often depicted as Godzilla's archnemesis. I think it was Khu that had also said that Game Freak will be reusing a lot of old concepts from the past that were scrapped, so that further leads me to believe that they finally figured out a proper design for a Mecha/tank Hydreigon.

Dragonite, huh? I always found it weird since I was younger that it has "night" in its name, but there's never been anything else in its design, descriptions, or inspirations to show any sort of reason why they gave it that name. But I think that a Dragon/Dark type is possible for it. Whether it's a Regional Variant, a Fake, or an Ancestor to Dragonite, doesn't matter. You might be thinking "Dragonite isn't its original name, it's Japanese name is nothing like it" And you'd be right. But you've gotta think deeper. _Deeper still. Dive down. As deep as you can. And then you'll find it._ *Kairyū.* The TRUE Sea Dragon. Deep underwater, in the secret rooms of the Padeya "Victory Road". It is something we don't have yet aside from Skrelp/Dragalge. But they don't give a "sea dragon" vibe. Dragonite's name in Japanese is カイリュー。 And at a glance, the katakana really doesn't mean anything special. I mean, pop it into Google Translate, and all you get is "Dragonite". But if you take the words Kai, and Ryū, and change them into Kanjiー the more advanced part of the Japanese alphabetー the clear choice is 海竜. And that directly translates to "Sea Dragon". Now think back to Heartgold and Soulsilver, FireRed and LeafGreen, or Red and Blue. Why is it that Dratini can only be found by using the super rod in the water? And why is it, also, that Dragonite is never seen in the water? It's only seen flying in the skies of Kanto (not in the games, since you never actually see it in the wild or anything). What happened for it to change so drastically?

Well I can tell you this much. Dragonite is... not the only one of it's kind. It's merely one species of Dragonite. A sort of branched evolution, but not quite. Maybe. Perhaps it has evolved to take on a form to be able to live on the land and in the sky, rather than underwater. The other Dragonites however, have always lived deep underwater, away from human contact since ancient times, having no need to ever come to higher sea levels or above the surface. Dratini were hunted down to near extinction so they learned to never trust humans and continue their lives in the deepest reaches of the sea, where no human has ever explored. Hence the dark type, rather than water even. They were forced to evolve to be able to survive down there, because the deeper you go, the fiercer the predator. And they became the top of the food chain. Apex predators. Thus, they are only written of in legend. These Dragonite are quite literally, legendary Pokémon. Most people don't even know it exists, and those who vaguely know stories of it, just deny it. Tell them you know of a different kind of Dragonite that lives in the sea, they'll call you crazy and say "That's not the Dragonite we know and love! We already have that!" If you think this is farfetch'd, ask yourself this: "Why would Gamefreak name a Pokémon "Sea Dragon", but give it nothing to do with the sea? And would they really leave that potential there to die, unanswered?" I mean, why not just name it Dragon in Japanese katakana? As in ドラゴン。I mean, they named the 3 birds just Ice, Fire and Thunder.

Dragonite is the first dragon Pokémon we saw. They know it's legacy. They know everything that they do with it, what's riding on that. They make callbacks and references, homages, all the time with new Pokémon. They do their research on the history of probably every alternate form they make of older Pokémon, to gather inspiration, to keep it consistent and to make it interesting when they recreate it. Whether the end result seems that way is up to interpretation. They've been saving it for a long time. And now, after years of waiting, since Mega Evolution, Regional Forms, Regional Evolutions and Ancient [Hisuian] Forms, this is Dragonite's big moment. It's possible the first time we even see it, is as an Elite 4 member's signature Pokémon, whether that is Dragon or Dark. And my guess, is that it will also get a crystal/armor evolution with Water as it's specialty. Since, in theory, it would probably have a lot of water type moves, maybe even a true signature water-type attack. The Dragon/Flying Dragonite might get this treatment as well. But if not, and it's only the new one, you can't be mad as it's still Dragonite. And then everyone will go searching for it in a frenzy, in game and online, as we are in an era where you can do that now. But it will be hard still, as most people would have never even thought to look for it and it would be extremely rare in an extremely hard to find, secret cave. For this reason, I really hope it doesn't get leaked or revealed in a trailer. If it does, oh well. But if not, then just remember this for when Dragonite gets its "new" form in Scarlet and Violet.

*Sidenote: It's possible it evolves from a regular Dragonair and needs a special item to evolve, and Dragonite itself is found in the secret cave. And that the original Dragonite exists in the game, so you can imagine the surprise when people who were hoping for a new Dragonite see their Dragonair evolve into a regular old Dragonite. And then suddenly see DragonNIGHT in the elite 4, or in this cave. Chances of someone stumbling upon it and finding the super rare Dragonite are very slim, but crazier things have happened. And it could also be that Dratini has a special regional form hidden in that cave, or something. It's really hard to say, what with there being like 4 different types of new forms of Pokémon. It makes it confusing. Maybe Dragonair has to level up underwater for it to become the Dark Dragonite...

In the trailer you can see people trading larvitar and bagon i think those could be the 2 time altered Pseudo legendaries you might get a futuristic tyranitar ttar tube or a past form and that's why they were trading for 1 pseudo time altered form for each game perhaps like a future salamence or past salamence then future ttar or past ttar like on violet future forms and on scarlet past forms like what ttar tube said abt time altered forms but more game specific i think those 2 are more likely but there is a dratini statue in the trailers

Ok, so I theorize that Dragapult and Kommo-o are going to be timewarped pokemon. Why? Well it’s well known that Dragapult had a form in the past and it got reincarnated into the form we know. Kommo’s-o is just a guess since it seems like a very traditional pokemon so it would be cool to see it have a future form.

My thoughts of what pseudo legends get past-future forms are: Past Dragonite / Past Garchomp: Garchomp could be a Water/Ground type and could share elements with it’s beta design whilst still being a bit aquatic. Dragonite could be more snakelike to tie the evolution from Dragonair to Dragonite, it’s probably more likely than Garchomp because of the Dratini fountain in the trailer. Future Dragapult: A bigger, more aircraft inspired, metallic Dragapult that allows people to ride on its back. Steel/Ghost, instead of shooting its children, it would shoot a remoraid or arrocuda - because (im pretty sure that) their both inspired by weapons. I don’t think this is likely, this would be cool though.

See. Krabby being the Rfake makes sense if they're like supposed to be converging evolution. A lot of crustaceans are slowly getting more and more crab like. It'd be a fun concept to see.

Hear me out. Dratini. It's like a amphibian, and lives in the sea, but isn't water type. The RFake is gonna be the gen 9 Pseudo legendary that looks a Dratini, and evolves into something else. All vertebrates evolved from ancestors that crawled from the sea billions of years in the past.

I think the gen 1 Pokémon that crawls onto land is going to be Dewgong/Seal, because if you think about it they would crawl up and it makes a lot more sense IMO

Ik we're talking about Gen9 but this "time travel" thing is giving me high hopes for a possible Gen5 sequel where the new evil team uses this time travel technology to resurrect the Original Dragon or smth like that.

I think it might be about genetics. When legendary Pokémon might pass down their genetics to common pokemons. Because they’re artificial Pokémon. Kinda like kyurem, Zekrom, and reshiram. Where they take the genetics and implant it on a Pokémon. And that’ll be the future Pokémon. The past Pokémon is gonna be Pokémon who traveled in warped space. Or that the past Pokémon who warped were somehow mixed and combined together when a professor tried to time travel and tried to capture 2 Pokémon but instead warped together into one.
