I love this game and it's one of my favorite deck builder/area placement games. Better at 3-4 players. I have the first edition and think the plastic bits help a lot, although it could honestly have any theme. I do love the D&D theme though as an old school player. I'm glad this will be more accessible to people.

As a big fan of this game and owner of the 1st edition, I can offer some insights: 1. If you own the first edition and expansion, you need this game sleeved as well. The cards in the expansion ended up being printed on very different card stock. They were about twice as thick as the base game and had this really bright gloss on the back that just wasn't there in the base game. I'm not a stickler for little component quality details AT ALL, but this one was pretty bad. It was to the point where if you had a base faction and an expansion faction in a game and you needed to separate them out after the game, it was actually easier to do with the cards flipped face down. That being said, I always thought the card stock (or both different card stocks) were fine on their own. Kind of a bummer that it sounds like they downgraded, you still need to sleeve, and that you can still tell card decks from the back. 2. I feel like the minis vs. pogs is probably a fairly neutral thing. The pogs definitely look unexciting and they just don't invoke a sense of "this is my army spreading across the land." That being said, the minis in the first edition weren't great, either. They were just little flags and they sometimes got a bit lost on the board. The spies were especially easy to lose track of, since they were the same size as the tiny flags. The pogs definitely look brighter/clearer and easier to see, though. Component issues aside, I've always really liked this game. I always enjoyed that the big cards are all giants and dragons and things that feel BIG. And the small cards kind of have that Magic The Gathering feeling of "this card may not be super exciting in its effect by itself, but if I load my deck with these, they're going to create some momentum." And I've always enjoyed the way you kind of branch out across the board 1 space at a time. It has this really nice feeling of taking over and filling the map with your color (as opposed to simply moving your color around as area control sometimes turns into). The first edition wasn't perfect and it sounds like there really aren't any improvements in the second edition (apart from including the expansion, which is nice). But if it gives this game a second life, I'm excited about that!

I love this game, and I have the version with the miniatures and I say the game itself is much nicer to play and beautiful. It is worth checking. Thanks for the video and keep up the great work.

I know a lot of people like the aspect of combos which only the elemental deck brings. Though to me personal the biggest disadvantage is that this leads to the highest luck factor....which I dont like in games. 1. you start with 10 base cards 2. you might be "forced" to buy 1,2 or even more further base cards especially in the beginning of the game 3. You can hardly restrict yourself to buy just cards from one aspect, even choosing only two aspects is hard. 4. You would have to focus on getting rid of base cards early in the game. Conclusion: Taking into account that the elemental cards have a price which is only worth it when you can actually trigger the combo effect so and so often somehow to me leads to this deck being on the very low tier....just being my first impression. This game doesnt need comcos. Each card has a very specific use. It shouldnt be like hero realms where combos is THE fun factor.

I have never played the first edition so when buying the second one I thought that not having minis would be a thorn in the eyes. BUT: Having watched some live-plays of the first edition, I have to say that the tokens bring a much clearer overview, as you can better count as they are flat looking on the board somehow from above-side view. You can directly spot any spies. The only thing in the neutral units placed on the white locations. Might have been better to give them a grey colour or so. What I would criticise is the fact that when you sleeve all cards then they dont fit nicely in the insert while you can still perfectly close the box. Concerning the card quality: When you sleeve cards anyway then the material quality doesnt matter so to me personal saving that money is positive...thought I see that players who dont sleeve cards at all might have a problem.

Guys, do you know at least any deckbuilding game, where all the cards should not be sleeved? Every time you shuffle them then do it again and again and again. Even plastic ones soon will loose their prints...

I really love this game, i have played a lot through TTS. It's true that is not a very pretty Game, It looks like a very old design, i really like minis and i'd like to have seen a more modern design, but it's nice. And it's a great Game, the rules are perfect for a deck building games fan like me with only the exception, all the players have the same number of turns but that point beneficts clearly the last player (3-4 players games). I really expected a change relative to this point, because starting as the first player is worst than other option though you choose the starting place at first and can start to purchase cards before the rest. Not very fan of the second edition but at least we got the translated version of the Game, that is very good for all (for those langauges speakers, i'm spanish). And hey, i got my copy of the Game on october, wishing to have It!!!!!!. Sorry for my poor english. Great video, guys. I'm a very Big fan of your work. Good job!

Not a fan of this game at all anyway But for me? F minis I hate themmm so to have a new version without minis, and with cheaper price and with the expansion included? Seems like a great deal! Again not a fan of this game but as for your review that's sounds better

Wow, this is the video where Will lost me as a reviewer. It was nice period of time, and nice videos to watch, but sometimes it takes time to build trust and to realize if a content provider is thinking like you... So it was worth sacrificing the minis for the purpose of making the box compact? Are you for real? Thanks anyway. Good luck and all... P.S. I did give you a thumb up, Jonathan.
