ALL THE SMOKE

Күн бұрын

Recharged and ready to rock. ALL THE SMOKE is back for season 5 and is kicking it off with former 19-year NBA vet big man, Tyson Chandler. Chandler speaks with Matt and Stak about his long, storied career. First, he previews the upcoming Mavs season and talks about the Luka & Kyrie
duo and looks back on winning the 2011 title with Dallas. Then, Chandler opens up about his time with the Hornets & Chris Paul, being a part of the 2008 Olympic team, and his Knicks' run with Carmelo Anthony. Also, he explains how he knew Devin Booker was special when he played with him during his rookie season.

Tyson Chandler had a sneaky good career. A ring at the NBA, a gold medal, a FIBA world cup, a defensive player of the year, stayed in the league for just under two decades and people remember him for his Hornets and Mavs days quite vividly. That's a top non-star career. Beats the careers of many all-stars.

One of the main reasons that Mavs won the championship in 2011. His defense, tenacity and toughness solidified that front court. He's the unsung hero and a very underrated player.

It's obvious by now that Matt and Stack have massive respect for Kobe, as do I. They ask about him on most episodes. This is the best basketball interview show on the Internet, and one of the best basketball shows ever, along with Chuck, Kenny, Ernie, and, later, Shaq on TNT

I’ll never ever question their love for Kobe, but they also know that stories about him will bring the most traction to the show. It’s just like Skip mentioning LeBron every show: people will always tune in. I agree with you though, this is one of the best basketball shows ever.

They ask because the players they interview have history with Kobe... they don't use that as click bait... they're legit podcasters... and every Kobe story is usually a good one. It's not like KG asking everyone about the NIL or going overseas instead... you can only beat that horse for so long but every Kobe story is different so it can't get old

I wasn’t following Chandler until he got in Dallas that one year, and oh my goodness. He’s such a great defensive presence. I’ll stay and watch him play whenever he’s on the screen afterwards. Especially during Linsanity, I was just jumping for joy watching them two on the court. I always felt if Lin stayed in NYK it would have been so much better off for him. Houston got Harden, Lin story just dropped off.
