@Attitude-royale2 жыл бұрын
No 99% of ppl agree that there's no way to quantity "greatest of all time," but if there was Fury would be a contender...then there's 1% who for whatever reason will never accept him as even a decent fighter...just to prove my point, list the strict criteria for "greatest of all time," and name 5 HWs in history that fulfill this criteria more so than Fury.
@dankharrold37742 жыл бұрын
The additional "will never be" kinda just highlights the fact that no matter what Fury does you will never give him credit.
@mdc123-v2v2 жыл бұрын
@@Attitude-royale Ali, Frazier/Louis, Foreman, Lewis, Holmes. There's an easy way to quantify the ATG list, it's based on your achievements and your opposition. Fury has a few achievements but he isnt unified and he hasn't fought anywhere near the opposition the other boxers on the ATG list have. He's top 15 but only barely. If he unifies he'll be top 10 but nowhere near top 5. Not his fault though, it's an incredibly weak era.
@Attitude-royale2 жыл бұрын
@@mdc123-v2v again you can't name the specific criteria you're claiming makes someone a great. You're just keeping it vague ("their achievements and opposition") to avoid admitting that there's no consistent rationale in what you're saying. So I ask again, what is the SPECIFIC criteria for being considered a great and then name 5 HWs that meet this criteria more so than Fury. For example if you're going to regurgitate "beat everyone from your era," literally only 2 of those 5 boxers you just named actually did that...what's the other criteria?
@mdc123-v2v2 жыл бұрын
@@Attitude-royale What else is there aside from achievements (belts held, championship fights won, divisions unified, time as champion) and quality of opposition. Both of those measures are completely rationale. The only reason you're arguing against them is because they don't apply to Fury. Fury has fought noone besides an ageing Klitschko and Wilder. He has 3 defenses and has never fought a mandatory and still you're saying he should be considered top 5 ATG? What are you smoking. Louis defended the NYSAC, NBA, and The Ring heavyweight titles 25 times, he beat numerous other ATG's in a career spanning over a decade as a champion. Foreman was a former unified, lineal champion at 45-years old, beat numerous other greats in his career and fought a who's who of golden age talent. Holmes had 20 title defenses against quality opposition including Muhammad Ali, Earnie Shavers, Mike Weaver, Gerry Cooney, Tim Witherspoon, Carl Williams, and Marvis Frazier. Lewis was the last undisputed unified champion and 3-time HW champion, former European, British, and Commonwealth champion, Olympic gold medalist and has better wins inside a 3 year-window than Fury does in his entire career. Rocky Marciano was 49-0, had 6 successful defenses of the NYSAC, NBA, and The Ring belts and beat other ATG's like Jersey Joe Walcott, Ezzard Charles and Archie Moore. Include Ali and there's 5. I have loads more with better resumes and achievements than Fury. Now you tell me, why Tyson Fury, a man with only two actually decent wins on his record and 3 title defences in an incredibly weak era, should be ranked inside the top 5 ATG? Btw. There is no objective reasoning you can come back with here so just give it up. You are talking absolute rubbish, even as a fan of Fury.
@t-rexreximus3592 жыл бұрын
Great analysis! 👍 Fury’s record is appalling for a HW champ (his only notable wins are Klitschko, Wilder, and maybe Whyte). It’s pisses me off that he keeps claiming he’s “the best of all time”, but doesn’t think he needs to prove it, or keeps making excuses not to take fights. I note he didn’t set a deadline for Chisora’s team to finalise the contract. 😂. When Joyce called him out to fight in Dec (after AJ fell through) his first response is Joyce doesn’t have enough Instagram followers 😂 Usyk is currently on track to be the best Cruiserweight & Heavyweight of this era!
