Hi, today i restore this Rusty vintage lighter that was give it to me for free at flea market because i bought some things.
This lighter was in a very bad shape as you can see.
I tried my best to restore, problem is that logo was to worn out and was imposible to bring it back all the details.
On the Lighter it's written ''La Concorde''.
I didn't found any details on internet about this lighter , maybe you can.
I started this restoration by disassembling all the parts, inside, the nut that hold the spring for the flint is missing.
After all dissesembling i started cleaning all the parts with acetone to remove grease and dirt.
After cleaning i started bending back the metal and remove all the scratches.
After lot of polishing this lighter start to shine again.
I put a new flint and new wick and was ready for a new life.
Thank you for watching!

I remember that my grandfather had a lighter similar to that one and he used it every time he used the campfire to heat the food on the hill (we took care of ewes) it was great. Nowadays it is very rare to see one of those would be great to have it and surprise my grandpa. Very good job congratulations every time you restore something you do that we remember those good moments of the past greetings from MEXICO.

As to the mysterious history, the lighter is a token from "La Concorde Assurances", an insurance company - it's probably late 1960's on, when insurance companies still encouraged their customers to smoke 😂and quite collectable. Half expecting you to break out one of those mad knurling files on the flint wheel like your buddy at my mechanics 👊. Nice job my friend, if only I had half your dedication...!

You have the patience of a saint ! Your solutions to problems are both imaginative and creative (like using the rounded nut to push out the dents). I totally understand when YT videos don't have voice commentary but have just captions due maybe a language barrier or whatever. I am a visual learner so these types of videos are very enjoyable to watch. NO BS just excellent work, camera angles and the outcome is envious. I watch Almazan Kitchen simply because he does not speak but produces unworldly results. So, Tysy you are the Almazan of restoration in my eyes.

An ingenious method for rubbing the dents out from the inside! It is similar to the paintless dent removal that they use for cars. Takes time, patience, concentration, and really strong fingers. I think that was the single, pivotal technique for getting the great result you had. (That high shine would have been less stunning if the dents were still there.) Oh...and thank goodness that they haven't changed the spec on lighter flints in a hundred years! That thing puts out one MANLY flame! Gorgeous job. If I had that thing, I'd engrave your logo on it with my laser. Well done, sir!

A warm Hello to you. I very greatly enjoy the work and skills you show in your videos, of which I have watched a few by now, having recently discovered your YT channel. I also greatly enjoy the variety of restoration projects you complete; from railway lanterns to tabletop lighters (Yours is a "Polo" brand, from UK, I believe: I used to own 3 of them, all now sadly stolen from my collection). I too collect and restore old lighters, although I do not have your range of tools, experience, or metal-working knowledge. Even so: it is truly a pleasure to watch your very skilled resurrection of these antiques, especially the lighters. Kind and Respectful Regards, Uyraell, New Zealand.
