Good little instructional video Ben, never bothered trying DMR as i think my nearest compatible repeater is around 30 miles away.

You could always build a hot-spot 😉 If you have access to Hubnet, we could have a QSO sometime 😉

@@m7frs272 Yeah a few have mentioned me setting a hot spot up around here but unsure if it would be worthwhile, probably only me and a couple would use it. 😂

Hi Ben just watched the TYT video very useful but i wondered about a couple of things do you have to be a licensed ham to use the digital side of the software and if so is foundation level good enough. Thanks for a very informative video Tony

Hi Tony, you don't need to be licensed to use the software. I wrote a codeplug for my Baofeng DM1702 while studying for my foundation licence, however you can't obtain a DMR ID without a licence. Yes, foundation level is fine. Thanks for watching, glad you found it useful. 73 Ben.

Why not install OpenGD77 and make it a much more usable radio?
@m7frs2724 ай бұрын
Someone else has suggested that, so yeah, I'll give it a look. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching 👍
