This woman has such a wealth of knowledge and insight into the beauty industry and I feel this interview didn’t do her justice. If the right questions were asked we would have gotten so much more from her. Few black make up artists of this calibre make it as far as she has, we could have learned so much more, especially on how to monetise this industry in Zambia. How she got to were she is to be earning well in a challenging industry is such an achievement . My two cents as a Zambian Makeup Artist.

There’s banter and then there’s blatant disrespect. Elson calling Kalenga’s acne herpes is disrespectful! I often find it hard to watch some of these episodes due to Elson’s inappropriate remarks. For a person who claims to be smart he has zero emotional intelligence.

Let’s clarify, acne is not only about skin care. Some people have hormonal imbalances which contribute to the breakouts. Acne is a health condition just like other issues out there and it affects one’s self esteem and can be quite frustrating to try and get under control. Let’s be sensitive to those dealing with the condition and be mindful not to give unsolicited suggestions on what one needs to do to fix their skin. It’s a sensitive subject for acne sufferers and takes a lot just to leave the house knowing everyone can see it.
@ArmandYambisa6 ай бұрын
I totally agree with you. I suffered acne breakouts and it took a toll on my self esteem. I tried different products to no avail. I just got to a point where I stopped caring about my skin and what people thought about me. That's the time I felt strongest and most powerful. I think I got a hold of my brain and emotions. Since then, the acne jumped on a journey to extinction. Thank you for your comment.

I have to be honest… this interview was so underwhelming… and I love this girl.. and the platform…I am Namibian.. and I found her on IG. The questions asked were so mediocre.. everything was all over the place.. as in 😮… Elson is honestly always crossing the line.. getting annoying at this point… he doesn’t allow his guest to fully express themselves.. guys give your guests a chance to finish whatever it is they want to say. Also hoe phase? Excuse me? Is that even a question ? Common man … that was so mediocre…and uncomfortable to watch… Elson is so out of touch with what it is you say and don’t say to people. Gosh! Also this specific interview came across as if y’all didn’t even prepare? Do better!

This info is for "Gobb" To summarise , this lady did not achieve the grades required in order for her to go to 6th form college (high school). In England UK , if you fail your exams in year 11(secondary school) at age 16, you stay at home and wait until you are 18yrs old and then you can apply for a free government funded access course/ NVQ of your choice which is usually equivalent to 3 A levels because you need A levels or equivalent to be accepted at university to study a degree. Most of these free funded courses are " access to business, access to health studies, access to criminology and etc" So, once you get your "access course certificate then you apply to university". But of course this lady opted for a make-up apprentiship route .
@ntando64996 ай бұрын
Wrong. Either way kids in UK have different ways of going to University. Some do A levels some take the Tech route and do the access courses and still go to UNI. Besides not everyone wants to go to uni
@user-cq9bb3kf5n6 ай бұрын
Either way, the route they take always depends on the grades 😂 The smart ones academically , go to 6th form .

K-plus for acne try this, doxycycline 1 tab twice daily, vitamin b-complex 2 tabs twice daily and benzoyl peroxide gel 5-10% twice a day. For a week and see if that works.

@@susanbwalya4168 very true it's dependent on the skin, though antibiotics must not be taken for a very long period as you will become resistant to them. You can continue the vitamin b complex and gel of course.

K-plus…. You need a NON COMODOGENIC moisturizer. ( one that does not block pores) you also need to get an extraction facial, and tone with witch’s hazel. And avoid touching your face. I had terrible acne and started using Cetaphil (face wash and moisturizer) may be worth asking someone to take some to Zambia for you. It’s WORTH it and not over priced. Maybe in dischem or clicks maybe even link pharmacy or jubilee

I don't know what Zambians have against other Zambians who've spent a significant time away from home and speak a certain way, it's like an eternal bitterness. You'll never hear Nigerians or Ghanaians ripping into their countrymen in the diaspora for their acquired "accents". Understand that ways of speech are a subconscious thing, especially if you move away as a child or teenager, your way of speech is influenced by your schooling, peers and environment. Even YOU as a Zambian have an accent. Every single person has an accent that is a direct product of their surroundings. You cannot question why someone picked up a way of speech. Of course there are people who sometimes have non-genuine accents, but I don't get why alot of Zambians are so hellbent on questioning people who've lived 20 plus years elsewhere and you expect them to speak the way you speak? This is not only dull but unrealistic.
@ndane46 ай бұрын
It’s just jealousy I think😅 Because what you’ve explained should be common sense but no, it’s not.
@ArmandYambisa6 ай бұрын
On point. Before I started travelling out of the country, I thought people used to exaggerate accents. So when I visited the US, I realised folks there couldn't really understand the way I pronounced words until I started pronouncing them they way they did. So that went on and on, and subconsciously, the accent started sticking. So yeah, I totally understand folks with accents totally. My African and Costa Rican friends said I had an accent. We should just be taking a chill pill, really.
