I found ug by accident. I've been trying to get over a trauma-based illness and people told me to listen to Eckhart Tolle. Goodness knows how I got here. But listening has allowed me to let my illness be, and not care about it, and I am now able to do so much more! I cannot thank ug enough and this wonderful channel for sharing his videos. I have started remastering my health in just a few weeks after being ill for 5 years. You have no idea how grateful I am ♥

I noticed that a few years ago when I was lifting weights and eating healthy I also want my girlfriend and society to eat healthy.(did not work)Like Ug says most people are trying to change the world so it can fit the change they want to bring about themselves... This is extremely exhausting and by enlarge this ends in violence. Nowadays I can eat healthy without the need to change society. I have to listen to ug once in a while because I always see something new depending on what's going on in my life.👍

Real philosophy and spirituality, or call it what you like, is always best understood with common sense. Things we can all appreciate in the here and now. Dogma is not sufficient, although faith that we can improve and be happy, is an acknowledgement that we hope for it. ❤

Hey man, owner of the channel thanks for your service to UG and it is really refreshing to hear this, the funny thing is that this make's all the guru businesses nonsense, although there is alot of love in there for the Western people that are not comprehensive with this teaching at all. Myself living in the netherlands, if i would hear this i would just call this man crazy. Just after going about in india and meeting gurus now that was a doorway to understand this. So yeah, anyways thanks again.

There's nothing to understand, and all questions are answers you already have - these two things UG says are crucial. I came across U.G. earlier in my so called search (it was research rather than practice) and what he was saying turned me away because I was still in delusion that the study and learning are necessary for self realization, but it's actually the opposite, it's the unlearning and abandoning all belief that does it. UG is probably the best end-of-search man to listen to, after hearing him talk and contemplating implications of it, it's easy to notice that many gurus and spiritual teachers have no idea what they are talking about. Thanks for sharing this, much appreciated!

@Icy_cool Say that your question is "How do I achieve happiness?" - well, as you note it, there's a notion of happiness, and there's also an idea of "I", as well as idea of achievement. It assumes that "I" is capable of achievement of happiness. These questions assume that you know who you are and what happiness is. But those things are based on belief or assumption, and if we were to go on and clarify what is meant, we'd never end with definitions and explanations. Humans believe that each individual is a "person", but what is a person? We could say it is a social designation, e.g. person is a body that acts. But that's not the extent of what we are, is it? So the way I understand it, UG is saying that we need external confirmation of our beliefs by asking questions. People used to ask him about afterlife, and that's a good example, because the question assumes there's afterlife, and questioner would like to get a confirmation from assumed authority figure that there is after life and this and that happens then. We know nothing for sure but we pretend that we do, which is where all the trouble comes in.
@fogmann
@fogmann 4 жыл бұрын
@Icy_cool Well, I've explored different takes on liberation / awakening, and I realize that each awakened individual will still keep their own perspective on things, their own way of explaining it, for it's not really anything you can explain. Non-dual perspective is being this awareness in which everything appears, and all that is is present moment experiencing. In this experiencing, both little self and the world are witnessed impersonally. In this witnessing, there's nobody who makes choices, there's just what happens. Non-dualist "teachers" or people who do the pointing, will tell you that you can't escape this presence, or they would say there's awareness and then content of awareness, which are not two, but one. And in it all happens according to the cosmic law. But while identified with ego self, it appears that here's me, and there's the world, and mind separates what is one continuous whole (experiencing) into different objects of experience. So don't get too hung up trying to see things the way U.G. is explaining. For him, it's possible that he was so fed up with esoteric teachings which he was immersed in throughout his youth, as he was deep into theosophy and got disillusioned by the way the holy men were acting, which made him think that every holy man is a fraud, and that mystical experiences are result of the mind - maybe that's what made him cling to the idea that it's all physiological change that takes place as body purges out ego personality, for certainly there seems to be more to the chakras than them just being ductless glands. I think that his senses after his calamity began working so sharply that to him it was all physical - just a guess! You can also check out Ramesh Balsekar, he has a book Confusion no More, where he is addressing this confusion in seeking. Here's a quote: "The fact of the matter is, that while in reality the ego does not ‘exist’, for all practical purposes it is the ego who is the seeker and it is the ego who needs to be convinced that his ‘existence’ is merely a matter of divine hypnosis, and that his notion of free will or volition is based on the programming in the body-mind organism - genes plus environmental conditioning - over which he has had no control. It is only when the ego himself comes to the conclusion, from personal investigation into his own personal experience, that his every single action has been based on some prior happening over which he has had no control, that he is finally compelled to surrender his sense of personal doership, that no one is the doer of any action, neither himself nor the ‘other’, that all that happens at any moment, through any body-mind organism is brought about by the primal Energy functioning through each body-mind-organism, according to God’s Will or the Cosmic Law." In other words, our bodies are empty vehicles for consciousness to experience itself as us and the world.

Him. Unaware of being happy, content, he learns about the word happiness, from others presenting it as something desirable. As it is so new to him, he tries to find out what the happiness really is, he’s looking for the best description. Again from the others, because they are the ones who told him about it, therefore he concludes they have more information than him. On the basis of that description, he creates his own idea of happiness, which doesn’t describe anything present in his own life as that description is describing a word happiness, not the actual thing. And so he ends up echoing the primary idea implanted within his memory (after he heard, read others mentioning the happiness), that happiness is something that is eluding him. So he creates another idea that he has to put a finger on this happiness in one way or another. Searching for the ways how other people do it. Searching for explanations of those ways how other people do it. Searching for explanations of explanations of those ways how other people do it. Searching for what exactly? Searching for more information on the information he already possesses, only. Which becomes a vicious circle, as the nature (balance) within him is trying to maintain the status quo, which was altered when he started to think that somebody else has something that he doesn’t. In this case a piece of information. Information on happiness. Then information on self. Then information on nonduality. Then information on enlightenment. And that’s how selfishness of one was born. In all its forms...For he himself created a hunger for that, which was not🖤

00:05 The goal is responsible for your search 04:00 There is nothing to understand. 10:31 There are no spiritual goals, they are superimposed on material goals. 14:12 No communication is possible without a reference point. 20:06 The present moment is influenced by the past, and the goals projected by the past shape our actions. 22:51 Past interference is unavoidable, no matter what you do. 28:10 The search for happiness keeps us unhappy 31:27 Wearing colored robes or being naked doesn't prove your importance, it only reflects your desire to feel important. 36:46 The continuity of thoughts shapes your identity. 39:25 Continuously seeking knowledge prevents attaining peace 47:13 Becoming free from societal conditioning leads to true individuality. 49:43 Your only interest should be a metal box 55:57 Self-knowledge and self-knowing are important for living from moment to moment. 59:07 Don't take advice from someone who can't follow it themselves. 1:06:27 All questions are frivolous and don't get serious answers. 1:09:57 Human nature is the same everywhere in the world. This is not correct ... communication is possible. Why does it feel good to be with somebody else? How do you know there is someone else? You know because there is communication ... but it is subtle energy. The end of the psychological desperation is what we need then there is peace ... and then communication is good.

UG helped me to step out of delusion more than any "teacher" Our problem is not spiritual, it is psychological. If there is a god, we cannot experience him at all. The night before I was "set free" I dreamed I was driving a car while UG sat in the passenger seat. Then I was suddenly in my bed and a large black spider crawled out of my hand. It crawled underneath my hand, hung itself upside down and died. The next day I came to the complete realization that what i thought way my "self" was simply the knowledge I have. I thought "Reject all of these teachers and ideas. Dont resist anything" And now I am free. Did the dream "mean" anything? Probably not, but I thought it was cool :)

Regarding the dream Your dream plainly says that you are not able to move without a presence of someone who you consider to be the highest authority in your life. Whatever you feel that authority is. This is confirmed by the second part of the dream- you will come up with a lie, which will crawl out of you, for a while you will protect it, yet then will hang itself on its own silk thread-as it just happened🖤

Both were part of the sect called the theosophical society. Later, U.G. sought answers from Jiddu and in the end gave up, realizing it's all phony and there are no enlightened answers (short story according to him). They are (were) sort of poles of the same sphere. Many would say U.G. gets more directly on to the "point", no jungle, no crossroads, no distraction. Both had their sheep who got addicted to them, U.G. also never took money for talks, nor made any organization in his name. He was really a nobody (well meant).
