Ingredients
1. Shallots /small red onion (cut into long Julians) - 500 to 600 gm (4 cups)
2. Green chilli slits - 2 to 5
3. Curry leaves - 2 twigs
4. Salt - to taste
5. Tamarind - gooseberry size
Masala
6. Theeyal podi - 1 ½ cup
Seasoning
7. Coconut oil - 2 tbsp
8. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
9. Red chilli - 3 to 4
10. Curry leaves - 4 to 5 twigs
Preparation
1. Dry roast the shallots, curry leaves & green chilli together for about 1 hour on slow fire till the shallots pieces get brown & crisp.
2. Boil with water & the salt, add tamarind juice & again boil 5 minutes.
3. Add the well ground masala & enough water to the required consistency, boil well.
4. Season with the ingredients & garnish with the squeezed curry leaves.
