U.S. Marines Train For Air Assault • Camp Pendleton

U.S. Marines with 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, conduct air assault training using MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft from Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 164, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, as part of exercise Steel Knight 23 at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California on Dec. 5, 2022. During Steel Knight 23, the division is conducting simulated island-hopping air assaults to remain ready for future naval expeditionary warfare in the Indo-Pacific region.
