The major change was that working class minority areas shifted slightly more Republican and wealthy white suburban areas shifted more Democratic. This factor explains why Texas stays relatively the same, Florida went more Red, and Nevada is still competitive. It also explains why Georgia/Arizona changed from red to blue, Penn/Mich/Wisconsin flipped back blue.

@ANDREW RUDICH Not my point at all. Trump and his radical militants were a threat to democracy. We may have never seen another real election again if he had succeeded. So you assume the pandemic magically ends instantly with Trump's defeat? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year travel and gatherings were terrible for the pandemic and forced the economy to tighten again. There is nothing new about corporate price gouging. The govt doesn't have that kind of the control over the market. "Sen Grassley said that insulin prices have dramatically increased because of manufacturer, health plan, and pharmacy benefit manager practices." These are market forces not government. "Biden froze a directive that would have ordered some health centers to provide insulin and epi-pens at the same price they purchased them through a government program. But experts say the health centers were already providing the discounts. Furthermore, Biden froze Trump’s order before it ever took effect, so it’s inaccurate to suggest prices are going up."

Easy question, Dems dominated Mail-in ballots, because the people that voted mail-in are democrats, so that's that. Secondly, speed is not a sign of fraud, you can not simply judge an election base on the speed. actually, we should be happy that modern elections don't typically end days after the election if we use logic, George Washington's first election that took days was also fraudulent, because of how long it took, Plus the counted ballots were counted after the election day, so they have time to process and count them, plus we've seen many recounts in similar states that show no fraud at all. Plus it could also be website situations where websites typically post-election data as they are released. Plus please stop it, Biden won I know it's hard to accept this reality in such a polarized country that we're in.

*Specifically rural vs. urban. More urbanized counties have gotten a lot bluer while rural counties have gotten a lot redder. This phenomenon can be seen in most states, including Texas. It can be seen by the fact that Biden's popularity is a lot higher than Trump's, however it seems the map has barely changed at all. More people are voting in urbanized areas, which in turn makes what previously are Republican strongholds into Democrat states. However it is important to acknowledge the irrecoverable polarization that Trump has caused to the country, which would have huge long term effect.

Some observations for the more recent history: 1992 - This is the most whitewashed map - It looks like people almost everywhere were still deciding which party they wanted to side with here. 2000 - This election really cemented a lot of counties believing strongly the way they do. 2008 - Some minor shifts to blue, but overall pretty similar to before. 2016 - This one is crazy to me. The reds become so deep that it's harder to tell borders. Really shows the divisiveness between the different areas of the country.
@blackbox3008

What's sad is that so many people don't know that evidence suggests Trump got 410 electoral votes in 2020. There is just so much evidence of mass voting irregularities, states like California and New York turned out to be heavily leaning for Trump. Think about it this way: Obama lost 4 million votes for his second term and won a pretty good landslide. Trump *gained* ~12 million votes for his second term (possibly even more) and they're claiming that he lost by a lot. The mathematical aspects don't make any sense. I'm not saying this to start a fight, but if someone who opposes my viewpoint would like to talk about this, I would for sure love to.
@thecomedypilot5894
@thecomedypilot5894 3 жыл бұрын
@Harry Engel Did you hear of those dominion voting machines? Multiple states had them where they could easily be hacked in to. Think about this: I remember during election night, Trump was ahead in Pennsylvania by 700,000 votes with most of the reporting in. Later Trump was leading by 500,000, but that's still virtually for biden to win that state. Next think you know a couple days later, they call Pennsylvania for biden after just "barely" winning. This happened during the Georgia Senate race as well. Perdue (R) leading 100,000 votes from Ossef (D) then all of a sudden the cameras went dark and over the course of the night, Perdue just barely lost the race. This is an example in the states of Wisconsin and Michigan. What I described in Pennsylvania is exactly what happened in these two states, and others. *kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWe3lI1ndsmkqKM* (Skip to 19:03) I want you to look more at when I said how obama lost 4 million votes and got re-elected in a landslide, but Trump gained 12 million votes, and they're saying they lost a lot. That's simply impossible to lose if you gain 12 million+ votes for your second term. Literally no president has gained those many votes for their second term. Also another thing worth mentioning, rally size generally depicts how many people would vote for you. It could be different in the middle of a pandemic, but Trump had tens of thousands of people attend his rallies, while biden only had a max of probably 20. biden has shown to be not ultimately healthy or fit to play the role of Commander in Chief of our country, with doctors worrying about his health if he were to get elected. I feel it is highly unlikely that biden got 81 million votes, and I heard an investigation team are now predicting that biden got around 68 million votes, and Trump around 79 million votes. *Sorry this is a long reply but when you see all the mathematical factors I mentioned, studies came to realize that it was virtually impossible for biden to win this election.*
@thecomedypilot5894
@thecomedypilot5894 3 жыл бұрын
@Harry Engel Trump's legal team was primarily focusing on the states that had obvious amounts of fraud involved. There were some other investigators who found much fraud in other states, and while some say it was certain that Trump got 410 votes, others say it was likely. What I'm basically saying is that it's possible Trump may have gotten more or less votes than 410, because investigations haven't gone too in-depth in some states such as California and New York. But the four states they focused on were needing to flip so that Trump would pass the 270 mark.
@thecomedypilot5894
@thecomedypilot5894 3 жыл бұрын
@Harry Engel Well that's how it is in most states, it's usually the cities that ultimately decide if the state turns red or blue. Take Minnesota for example (where I am) literally every county is red, but the city if Minneapolis was mostly blue which made Minnesota turn blue. Now personally for me, I think Trump won Minnesota but I don't really need to go into that.

The Libertarian Party has only ever gotten as much as 3% of the popular vote, and they have never won a county in a presidential election. I think most sites consider 5% the threshold for being considered a "major" candidate, hence why Ross Perot is still shown in 1996 despite not winning any counties or Electoral Votes.

The two party system is what made America great, that's why the 20's had Coolidge (R), the 30's and 40's Roosevelt (D), the 50's Eisenhower (R), the 60's Kennedy (D) and the 80's Reagan (R). Outstanding leaders. Even Clinton (D) in the 90's and Nixon (R) in the 70's, pretty good presidents. Things only radicalized under Bush Jr. and Obama, both bad. Trump did a good job but was very divisive. It's up to the people to start choosing the best of the best from both parties by stopping being blind.

Trump vs. Hilary and Trump vs. Biden look almost exactly the same, yet the results were completely reversed. Forgive me for thinking maybe that's a little strange.
@austinpat8054
@austinpat8054 3 жыл бұрын
It is a little strange, however, it can be easily explained when looking at the data. Biden won the states that he swung from Trump by relatively close margins (Michigan 2.8%, Pennsylvania 1.6%, Wisconsin 0.6%, Arizona 0.3%, and Georgia 0.2%, etc) Most of the votes that Biden gained in these states were tallied up from major cities that already voted Democrat in 2016, combine that with Biden skimming off some of Trumps rural counties and you got a win. If you want to see more drastic examples of counties shifting, you can look at states like Colorado and Washington which basically got solidified as Democratic States this election and Latino areas of Texas which swung to Trump.
@kianr9793
@kianr9793 3 жыл бұрын
“Completely reversed” you fail to realize how close the 2016 election was. A small shift in the vote was more than enough to give Biden the victory
@Megacooltommydee
@Megacooltommydee 2 жыл бұрын
Both elections were very close in the key states. Not much had to change to swing the election. Even if counties didn't flip from one election to the next, the margins in those counties probably shifted enough to make the difference in flipping certain states.
