How about a different headline? More than 1 in 5 vehicles electric? Is that lagging behind? With everyone buying trucks?
@duncanpyke4777Күн бұрын
Pay attention to the trend. ICE down about 15% since 2020 and EV’s up 5x. EV’s continue to get cheaper as battery costs fall, (down 51% in the last year), and ICE will only get more expensive to produce. The writing is on the wall, the transition is happening.

I thought you were going to talk about trends. Look at the graph. Ice down, EV's up.

EVs are not going up, hybrids are. Even auto manufacturers took notice and are making more hybrids over EVs.

Why would someone want a gas car that isn't a hybrid these days ?
@daveyboy1253Күн бұрын
Electrics and Hybrids now hold 21% of the market? That is amazing progress. That’s how you should have approached that story. You’re welcome. 😂

Very expensive car sales are down, in general. Luxury ICE pickup trucks are sitting on lots for over 200 days. Speaking for myself, the economy is looking uncertain and I’m not going to make any big purchases right now. I repaired everything wrong with the wife’s 2010 gas car and it’s good for another 5 years at least. We’d like an EV, waiting for prices to drop.

What great news and you try to destroy it with that stupid headline. Embarrassing, CBS News.

Could this be because car dealers and car producers push non-EVs and non-hybrids?

Things will change slowly. One fifth of sales isn't bad really. The Cadillac Lyric seems to be a hit.

The US 🇺🇸 has just over 1% of EV's on the road now. China 🇨🇳 has roughly 50% EV's currently on the road now.

Chinese EVs are less than 33% of cars on the road. New car sales are about 50% EV. Big difference

you also should do a story on the reason that a lot of people don’t transfer over to EV‘s is because our government is not building the infrastructure for charging stations. We are a huge country one of the biggest in the world. We need to have a lot more Options to be able to charge cars quickly or have battery swapped out immediately for long road trips because American love their road trips. I would love to have a electric vehicle, but I’ve heard horror stories of people going to charging stations. They’re broke they don’t work they’re slow. So our government like European countries need to invest the infrastructure for charging, and a lot would switch over But due to the all the lobbyist in our government, that’s gonna be a losing battle. You need to get the oil company out of your back pocket and start building us what we want stop listening to them and start listening to us. Some actual high-speed rail would be a bonus. We don’t have any like literally America’s lagging behind in every denomination That makes a country right now. This pipe dream of where the best country in the world is a lie. It might’ve been true 50 years ago, but not today.

Curse these trucks and SUVs that are 4 ft off the ground. Yall are so unserious. Be having 2 kids; and a rabbit now all of the sudden need a 4runner, Denali or Bronco raptor 🙄

This won't change for at least a decade. 60% or more of potential EV buyers can't charge at home, work, or out running errands. There also isn't a viable used EV market yet, but again, if you can't charge an EV you'll keep buying gasoline.

You make that sound like it a bad thing….you understand how electric cars work right? You mine for lithium which is limited and terrible for the environment
@billthecat7536Күн бұрын
@@prestonphillips3375 You obviously don't. Lithium supply is abundant and using it is a hell of a lot better for the environment than burning gas or coal. Educate yourself!
@prestonphillips3375Күн бұрын
I didn’t say using it I said mining for it…reading comprehension is hard for some. And no it’s not abundant or I wouldn’t have to pay 50k for a piece of plastic. Not to mention the fossil fuels it requires to run the power stations.
