I really admire watching them enjoy playing this song. Edge's guitar solo is so good.

I heard this version before Jimi's, and certainly Dylans. And also with Helter Skelter, Gloria etc. I gotta lot to thank this band for. The music changed, some say for the worse, but the message never did. Back in '90' i like hey did Edge just play a blues solo..? And a damned fine one at that. Those opening notes are beautiful!😍

Exactly! That's what I say. The energy of this time was brilliant! The style of the band, the songs ... This is purely epic! (Sorry, my English is not very good, I'm Brazilian) Hugs!

From what you've written, one could only deduce that your statement, "sorry...My English is not good" to be false. On the contrary, your English is quite good.

I always thought this version is like a "U2 starting to upset for all around them those years" then the famous speech "dream all again" and after that "Achtung baby".

Zapatada the Larry Mullen in your drums is Rock n Roll. Solo from Edge is incrible . U2 is the bigguest rock band all of time easy.

"Rock n Roll, that's all folks!" - it was on this same tour, in Dublin, that Bono gave his famous "we're going to have to go away and dream it all up again" speech. Both of these comments were referring to how U2 were about to ditch their serious side, embrace irony and throw-away culture, and be less political.

very cool guitar solo By the Edge, man.

Stop comparing covers. Rock is not a competition. Of course Jimi Hendrix's version is the best, even better than the Bob Dylan original IMO. But The Edge and U2 did a good job taking this great song into their sound. No one is trying to be better than Hendrix, this is just a tribute to his talent and Dylan's

I think U2 made this their own song. I don't think they were trying to out do Hendrix. This is a good version of it. Everyone is different. Bono is an activist, so he has definitely used this to his good.

one of the two best covers of this great song ever...(the other one being Hendrix's) Too bad you kept these people boring interventions ! It spoils the music…… I wish there was a version with the music only !

the edge is lookin' a bit like little steven. if i could tell bono one thing, i would tell him to listen to a group from the late 70's called ressurection band. they were singin' about apartied and zaud afrika when he was in diapers. they have icredible blues riffs and the male lead vocals are grity and melodic at the same time. it's music you feel not listen to.

After Hendrix even Dylan kind of backed off this song - the arrogance to these guys to think they could play it is astounding. If you think this is good you need to hear Jimi's version - end of story

I have heard Jimi's version and I prefer this by some distance.
