The greatest gospel rock song of all time I believe in the kingdom come Then all the colors will bleed into one Bleed into one But yes I'm still running You broke the bonds And you loosed the chains Carried the cross Of my shame Oh my shame You know I believe it That line always gets me ,Bono just opened his soul with that line

Wow are you ever nailing it with your interpretation of the lyrics here! Bringing it through with your perceived message of a spiritual quest. Once again, I get so much more out of it after I watch your reactions-great program!!!

You’re right that they are hard to describe. They have never fit in with the overall music scene. Just look at what else was on the charts in 87 😅. Beautiful gospel based song. And yeah, that voice.

U2. HALF-TIME show. For the NFL superbowl... Is a MUST WATCH. ... THE 9/11.TRIBUTE 😪😪

U2 caught a lot of crap for writing such general lyrics. Like just about everyone listens to this song and says "wow this is me". And it's musically very simple. But that is the magic of the song, IMO. It's one of the most perfect pop songs ever written, even though it doesn't have the typical sound or subject matter of a pop song from 1987.
