I was too 15 years old. Still am :) love U2 with all my heart. Wish I could've seen them when they were young in the 80s-90s, but I wasn't born...

i was 15 when this album came out and i was just blown away by it. unfortunately and no offence to you other fans but i have just laterally not liked a single thing they have done since :/ and i only like bits and pieces of their albums before, but this album was magical and inspired and you could feel that inspiration exploding from it. a masterpiece album and a band at their absolute peak.

I was there for the Sunday night show. yeah, so maybe Bono can't sing a few songs like he use to, but he is a performer, a damn good performer! And if your a big U2 fan like me, you have to see this last tour with the songs we grew up listening too or you will regret it forever!

I love U2 and this was the first time that I saw them live. I am so happy that I was able to see them and that they got to play all of their old stuff!

They are getting better and better. I know they have been doing this for 40 years but it seems like every tour they need a few shows to find their groove.
@timf74137 жыл бұрын
I think that's especially true this tour as they're playing a lot of material they haven't played for years, if not decades. It's perfectly reasonable it took them longer to work out the kinks than with songs they've played more constantly.

WOW! I didn't even know this was on " The Joshua Tree." His voice is still as good. And the Edge can still play the heck out of that guitar!

💙🎸💜🙏🌈 love Gods country.. amazing energetic concert footage with u2s distinguished sound.. Due to physical disabilities , etc. Was never able to attend any of their concerts....( I started listening to them in the 90s. ) So I was recently able to buy the awesome T shirt of 46 years together. Excellent quality... I wished I had been able to get the hooded jacket as well. For those cooler days / and nights. Am pleased to wear the t-shirt with much Pride. And everything U2 stands for in their selfless efforts to helping many worthy causes ..... 🙏💜

This does sound good but if after watching this go to the version from Rattle and Hum. The energy is incredible. Both good versions tho. Both in tandem with the bands journey.

A few things to say about this (all good): Kinda cool to see Bono NOT mucking around on an acoustic guitar (unnecessary) like he did in the live Rattle & Hum tour. Also cool that they got the tempo closer to the way it should be. AND, funny to note that I THINK Larry faffed 'er at the start, and didn't start with the rest of the band. Excellent MODERN version of this song, with little to no changes. I do this one in karaoke. I love it.

Bono can't play guitar anymore since he broke his arm and hand badly, as he said himself, no great loss.
@amandajones3303 Жыл бұрын
@@andrew6978 usual callous bullshit directed at bono aside, yes it is a great loss for a songwriter to no longer be able to play an instrument.
@andrew6978 Жыл бұрын
@@amandajones3303 He literally said it himself it isn't a great loss, U2 haven't suffered at all without him playing guitar. Yes it must be terrible for him on a personal level but it's of no detriment to U2.
@amandajones3303 Жыл бұрын
@@andrew6978 him saying something isn't a great loss doesnt mean it isnt. have you seen many new songs written? it's always bizarre to me how much people don't have a heart when bono is concerned.
@andrew6978 Жыл бұрын
@@amandajones3303 Bono's guitar playing is an extremely minor part of U2's songwriting. They've released 3 albums since he broke his arm.

After all these years and overwhelming success of such greatness of the Joshua Tree, I wonder does it get tiring? I mean all that money and power why not go off and retired to the coast of St. Tropez or Costa Rica, but that is not an option for a band like U2. If you know what I mean world. Mark 8:36

Annoyed by those saying this sucks because it's not like the album version. At almost 60 years old and touring for decades do you really think you'd be able to perform the same as when you were half your curreny age?

I love this song on the album. But …live? Honestly - Edges guitar on the verses and choruses sounds really blah. There is so much going on in the studio album - he could have at least pick through the notes. Just kind of lame apart from his lead work. It also sounded significantly better in Rattle and Hum w Bono playing guitar along w Edge. Oh well.

@billnict17 жыл бұрын
What is your opinion of the "political crap" spewed by Ted Nugent and Kid Rock?
@timf74135 жыл бұрын
The band have had exactly the same politics for going on 4 decades now. I get that injecting politics into music isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it mystifies me when people act like it's a recent development with this band. It's been a major part of their public persona, live act and lyrics from day one.
