It is 2023 and this band has help me to live after my husband has passed we live a beautiful life and see lots of beautiful place his last wish was to sail to AUSTRIA but he took sick he spend alot of years working the dangerous seas fishing and he was a chef in the Bay Area and we move HOMER, ALASKA for the last 6 yrs U2 has help me now at 72 I’m still here

40 years ago while doing a world tour promoting war I had a very pleasant tho slightly surreal conversation with bono or Paul hewson as he was then known. He looked ever so young long hair and boots , still shorter than me and I'm not tall He was both shy and curious and it would have been more awkward not to talk seeing as we were the only 2 people standing in this new vast indoor amptheatre. ....a moment in time

When they came to the University of Oklahoma, my friends and I didn't have enough money for tickets, but we sat outside the stadium and it was incredible. I even saw Bono being raised up on a platform when I looked through one of the entrances. I still regret not being to afford tickets, but it was a wonderful experience. You could hear it for miles around.

There are better bands than U2 but yes .. they have a unique sound like many bands of that era , true artists where all of them had a different sound and style even If they were a rock or pop band/performer , etc .. nowadays is not like that .. u2 have soul , passion in their lyrics without being great musicians but they have created a unique style and sound.... also thanks to The Edge special effects and the chemistry between the 4 of them together ..great band , great times ... music nowadays is literally dead .

IDK why they ‘slipped’ by me before this - maybe it’s bc I have more time now or my ‘taste’ has changed (from when he was with the Edge). I come away from this with two distinct thoughts… 1. It’s impossible to overstate just how special this band was live for over 30 years. It got to a point where I almost took it for granted. From the first U2 show my girlfriend dragged me to in Philly in 1997 all the way through the next couple decades, they were always great. They started to fall off a bit now. But time does that to all of us. Besides, they deserve credit for staying at an elite level live for as long as they did. Most bands last as an elite act for a couple tours and then mail in performances from that point forward. 2. Thank God for voluptuous Italian women without bras
