I'm glad you enjoyed it, but Hattie B's is nowhere near the level of the classic hot chicken places like Prince's, Bolton's, 400 Degrees, etc... Hattie B's was built to be a chain restaurant & tourist restaurant. You won't find many locals there. The original, Prince's is much more flavorful. I also recommend bone-in for a more authentic experience. Thanks for the review!

Born and raised near Nashville. Prince’s is great and hot. But Hattie B’s is the hottest. I can do any hot chicken restaurants hottest spice and be good. But Hattie B’s…will kick your ass! Always get plenty of ranch! Mends the spices and flavors very nicely. Also, hot chicken can be messy, so always try the tenders first. Leg quarters are good, too!
@OldHickoryBourbonClubАй бұрын
I eat Hattie B's regularly and it is more consistent then Prince's. If you are a first timer get chicken with bones not tenders to get the best experience. You can order an extra tender of the damn hot or shut the cluck up if you want to amp up the heat.

The levels of spiciness for hot chicken vary GREATLY from spot to spot. I couldn't take the heat from the medium level at Howlin' Rays in LA, but the hot level at Dave's Hot Chicken is pretty comfortably my go-to. Judging by your reaction here, it looks like Hattie B's is closer to Howlin' Rays as far as the levels 🤣

15:38 what drives me nuts about generic chain cole slaw like this and like the ones you can find at KFC and your local deli are they're so watery and soupy and the cabbage and veg are shredded up so fine they might as well be a puree. all you have to do is shred the veg in large enough strips that it still has crunchy texture, and appropriately season and sauce the slaw without adding too much vinegar. it's REALLY not that hard. it's like all these companies deliberately try so hard to screw up a good thing that is SO easy to make well. I will never understand.

I noticed the half portions, too, especially the coleslaw. This place takes too many shortcuts and the food and presentation suffer. Whenever you see a pickle on top of chicken, it's not a sign of good things to come. The food didn't look appetizing. They hide the lack of quality by blowing your head off with hot and spicy.
