Good luck making that at home 💀 You would need to buy a rib roast, then a deli slicer, then a brick oven and learn to become a master baker just to make the roll. If you just want to buy some steak-umz and have a ghetto cheese steak, sure. But this place didn't earn it's #1 rank in America (in many publications) by being so easy any home chef could make it up. If you want convenience, hit Mickey D's, but the best food should require us to wait and be savored.

I was just there on Sunday (was in Philly for the weekend from north NJ as well). Line was crazy and the wait for the cheesesteak was an hour. One of the girls behind the counter actually told us to set a timer and just come back (they keep your sandwich in a warmer when it is done). I also got cooper sharp with fried onions and it was amazing! Pro tip: if you walk down the block towards what I guess may be part of Little Italy, there are some places with open air seating where you can eat. You will definitely need to sit. Not advisable to try and eat this standing!

That looks really good! I hate when they chop up the steak really small like they do in a lot of Philadelphia places. The Cooper cheese is sort of an elevated American cheese. I don’t even like American cheese, but I like the Cooper. You can get it sliced at the deli counter in Wegmans.

This one is Dave Portnoy's favorite place for a Philly Cheesesteak and the man knows how to review, even if he is from Swampscott....Massachusetts guy joke there, I grew up about 10 miles south. Anyways. Great job on the review and video! Even with the wind. Take out and cash only....they must really do well as they aren't overpriced. I agree it should have been on an Amoroso roll. There is a local Dallas chain near me called Big Tony's Philly Cheesesteaks and Big Tony (Yes, I've met him, great guy! Really from Philly) ships in Amoroso rolls and it really adds to the authentic look and taste. Anyways...this is my third video I've watched...guess I need to subscribe now UA. So I did. A must if you are doing cheesesteak runs in Philly. The pizza, idk i found it to be really good. Don't sleep on it it really is a good pizza pie, think Umberto's of New Hyde Park brick oven but with a slight dif taste of sauce. worth the trip to get these two items there.

I've eaten at maybe at a dozen cheese steak joints in Philly, and to me, Angelo's blows them all away. The quality of the bread and the use of cooper sharp takes it to the next level. I usually have it with a roasted long hot, which adds a whole other smoky, spicy dimension. Just kind of pissed that it's now "discovered" and will now have to endure that line.

I’d suggest it’s their pizza that put them on the map. Yes their cheesesteak is getting a lot of attention, they have other good sandwiches too. Their cheesesteak is great with Cooper sharp, I am a sharp provolone guy, they really push the Cooper hard there, my assumption being it melts a lot quicker and they can crank them out faster without sacrificing quality. I don’t recall the provolone as being all that sharp there anyway. Wiz on a cheesesteak is for tourists The rolls are awesome. As for folding a slice of pizza, that’s something I just don’t get. As for what to review next- have you reviewed a proper roast pork? Or perhaps ‘Lil Nick’s or Ricci’s ? If you want to do another cheesesteak, Woodrow’s on South is one I’ve been meaning to try. As someone who avoids wiz, they make their own cheese sauce, they do their own thing, I’d like to try it. Philly has lots of great food beyond cheesesteaks and roast pork
