Thnx again for all the uploads . I keep looking through your back catalogue trying to find the video where you reviewed some periscope style box goggles . I have lost sight to one eye recently and have issues n the second and have had to drop back to a set of EV800d with multiple 3d printed inserts. If you could let us know the name of the "Periscope" style box goggles (you were quite positive about them) I would be grateful. ps my first two posts vanished

@@joemck1235 My other problem is with 20 plus drones on analogue I don't have the spare money to swap all over to a new system ,I was looking for the FTX Viper to put an HD Zero monitor in place of the included one and have a set I can use for analogue and digital. Happy you are still flying without issues ,I have been having real trouble flying LOS so I may have to start flying my 30 year collection of fixed wings and Heli's FPV

60 fps yeah not so much on 100-120. 90% of pilots are flying DJI video systems in one form or another

HDZ isn't just for racers. You were looking at 540p to get 90Hz on the HDZ system, 720p or 1080p using the HDZ micro cameras look pretty close to walksnail but don't have to use bidirectional transmission and the breakup is easier to fly through. It's really all about what kind of breakup you prefer.

Unfortunately HDZero is going to break up long before Walksnail, so I don't think it matters about how the break up is to fly through. I prefer to fly HDZero except if I'm in a challenging area for reception, then I'll switch to Walksnail.

I'm so glad I didn't go for the walksnails for my first. I've been building up my gear to start flying FPV and it looked so promising. After a bit more research I realised that digital won't be hobbyist friendly until an affordable open source system is available. My skyzone cobras have arrived at last, now to just buy the parts to start building

I much prefer HDZero for the low latency which adds confidence and better feel to flying - in freestyle. I don't fly much bandos and 1watt is easily enough for general flying. I use a seperate HD camera for recording - which is still the best way. This is because HD systems cannot optimise recording at the same time as providing FPV footage at low latency - although its good enough for some, the 'jack of all trades - master of none' phrase still stands.

I also prefer HDZERO even for freestyle I pre-dominately used DJI before that 03 air units and vistas etc etc I will NEVER GO BACK HDZERO is for me It may not be for everybody but i prefer the "FEEL" i can definately feel that lower latency for sure And i feel more confident flying faster with that lower latency. Fly what you will Also i got a special on hdzero sharkbyte TXR5.1 vrx's for like 50 bux a pop man... i aint paying over 300 bux for a dji 03 ever again screw that.

Analog was refined for the pilot. To a razor edge. We carried a GoPro to share our fun in HD with everyone else. One day hd systems will be good enough. But it’s just not today.

How was analog refined for the pilot? HD system have surpassed analog. HDZero 90hz(fps) is superior for racing. DJI O3 is good enough for most HD footage and O4 will better.

HDZERO is great for racing and has the best latency with the 90fps camera but analog is still lighter in weight and lower in cost.. not to mention that you arent stuck into a proprietary ecosystem. Even though hdzero is open source you still can only use hdzero cameras

@ analog wasn’t refined to be low latency by FPV. It is off the self tech that was used for FPV. only thing FPV is exploit the interlacing system to get extra fps. Also the only reason you can only get cameras etc from HDZero is Carl is selling them at low profit and other manufacturers have been enjoying high profit margins on analog parts. Every analog VTX ($15 or $50) is using the same Richwave chip.

I fly at FPV rebels in Brisbane I've flown a dji quad at one event but it's a fair bit of hassle due to needing to sit in a different spot. Analog and hdzero in my opinion are the best options for racing. It's what everyone else uses and if you have an issue there is always someone that can help you fix it.

Coming from DJI Digital drones, I recently picked up Fat shark Dominator's goggles (walk snail system) and really love the image quality! I'm way too past analog at this point lol I tried it, was like going back to regular tube TV's lol

Can’t wait for the DJI O4 units to come out with low latency. 20ms on the lite and 15 on the pro… seems like the perfect tradeoff between latency and picture quality. I don’t like the hdzero quality, breakup, and poor range/penetration.

@@Gallieg444 a lot of people aren't sensitive to the latency and unless you are flying with others you won't have an issue. If you are flying with others you can change the settings to be kinder and not make their video drop out. Walksnail is good and has a lot of great products. HDZero is great and very versatile, but unless you are wanting to fly the lightest digital whoops or the super low latency 90fps camera then you don't really need to worry. Just enjoy what you have you chose a great system.

I came from analog box goggles and then got the goggles x I wanted to see if I would notice the latency in my box goggles with the walksnail module on them I don’t notice maybe if you race hard we’ll never has anything good to say about walksnail if it wasn’t dji then it sucked I don’t even pay attention to half of the fpv posts anymore Facebook is a joke trying to get help was a shit show the arguing and back and forth between people and the reviews of one person prefers one system over the other than the system they are reviewing sucks after 4 or 5 years now in fpv I don’t even bother to ask for help I don’t talk to anyone except one guy I really was stoaked to get in the fpv community when I started now I prefer to fly myself and not even get on Facebook anymore

Hdz will never freeze. You just punch out and signal gets always recovered. But yeah low latency will compromise penetration
