Guys in Austin, Texas my riders are pissed. They're waiting longer, drivers are being sent from 15 to 20 minutes away. They're getting cancelled on like crazy as drivers snap for rides then realize it's trash. I recently picked up a pax that had been cancelled on 5 times. It's a mess. They broke it. And it's going to take more than the half assed advantage plan to fix it.

Drive in Austin also. Until November 2023 I averaged $47 an hour from January 2022 to November 1 2023. That's when they basically eliminated surges. They replaced it by offering rides to drivers further away. I've been offered rides 29.9 miles away that were just over 1 mile for $9. After the eagles concert in February I as at concourse project and offered a ride from the Moody center for 2 mi for $7. No surge at Moody. With new standard and advantage I can't even get an Uber ride anymore. I only get offered rides after 2:00 a.m. and those rides are paying $25 an hour and I won't do them because they're only one way meaning they're really only $12.50 an hour.

illegal is the savior of Uber, I visited in Miami, and not even one driver spoke English. the service was very bad the driver went to departures at the airport instead of arrivals even though I texted him the door number. waiting outside on a hot day for 30 mi. and other people around were going through the same thing. people gave up and took a taxi.

Here in Chicago a few major highways are under construction for the summer and it's absolutely skyrocketed the travel time. When the algorithms started following trends and noticing drivers making a bit more from idling the first thing Uber/Lyft did was a stealth move and lowered the rates to offset the drive times.

Uber is doing this in NC, the trip on the pax side is $15, then after the ride completed a service fee is add to the $15. A passenger showed me all her rides + the service fees which equate to around 25% of the fare. Drivers only get a cut of the fare but not the service fees. So Uber's fares are significantly lower nationwide but actually nothing's changed for them because the service fees bring everything back up for them.

Over the weekend, two individual pax told me that they waited 40min for a ride, the other one waited 50mins. I ran into a driver picking up an Eats, and he told me he turns the app off until he sees the surge, and then turns it on. I think drivers are saving their drive time by doing that, so pax see limited drivers but we all know that there are drivers. One pax complained about the surge, I explained how drivers are paid less so many drivers aren't accepting trips for a certain amount. They wait for the surge and then they turn the app on. By being online, Uber sees that there are available drivers not accepting trips, but also when your online as well not accepting trash

The rates here in San Diego are insane. I’m Uber driver for 12 years and since then Uber and Lyft only lower the price for drivers. They ( ceo)should be on jail. I’m 5 star driver more than 40 k rides between Uber and Lyft . I use to make at least $300 on 8 hours with app on, now in 14 hours $165 . It’s insane the situation that the drivers are passing through. I’m about to quit any time.

They may want to consider offering more money for very long trips, considering in many places if you take a long fare, you will be stuck where you drop off to make any money OR you end up traveling back to a good spot with an empty car. Yet they offer LESS for long rides. I stick to shorter rides (10 miles or less generally) cause they are the only ones that are profitable.

These passive-aggressive warnings about declining trip requests are some straight bs. We are not EMPLOYEES - stop trying to treat us as if we are. The Uber and Lyft apps were designed completely wrong and illegal to begin with for a company that utilizes independent contractors instead of hiring employees. There's not supposed to be any guesswork on OUR part as to what the job entails. We shouldn't be getting "pings" for trips, there should be a list of the available orders, and we should be able to pick the trips that we want to take. That would be the only way I can think of to make this legal. There needs to be a massive lawsuit on both companies for violating independent contractor law. They should be forced to pay a huge settlement to every driver that ever worked for them because of this.

I’ve been driving more Lyft lately than Uber because the rides are better and the app works better. Riders are telling me than it takes too long to be picked up by Uber. I’ve been telling them because the rides Uber sends us have long pickup time and distance and do not pay us for the pickup distance. Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill. Lyft is not much better but we can use features that set a radius to stay within that filters out the long distance trips that don’t pay well.

What are you talking about “increasing service fees”? They pay driver less than 50% now. Period. Their algorithm steals preset tips which are deducted from upfront fares and when you get them back at the end of the trip only then the rider’s price share comes to 55-60%/45-40%.

I believe Advantage mode will increase acceptance rates and they will steadily increase the minimum because if drivers don’t submit, you won’t get rides. However, the good and decent quality full-time drivers either already have or will get a full-time job or etc and stop driving for Uber/Lyft . If you want riders to keep coming back and every time they do, they feel more unsafe regarding the driver looking tired and feeling the vehicle isn’t maintained or clean, not speaking English, can’t afford or think of providing amenities, then why wouldn’t the amount of requests take a serious decline? Uber and Lyft better hope there isn’t any serious action against the illegals in the Gig Economy if they continue in this direction.

I'm an Aussie driver and there is a mistake here. Ubers commission has been at 27.5% here for years and that will stay the same. I've been driving 5 years and it's always been 27.5%.
