PERFECT! I was able to remove the old screen without breaking anything after pulling the tape. I will make sure and let the new tap have a little sticking out to grab in case I need to replace it in the future.

I used this guide for a 14-DQ. Everything was identical. The only thing I would add to this guide is to make sure you pop the hinge cover by opening the laptop all the way and popping it back into place.

Thank you so much! Computer illiterate esp on something like this. My model is a 14-dk1022wm and this video still worked exactly. The bezel was the hardest and most nerve racking part. Thank you for the best video i was able to find. If i had double sided tape Id be in business! Again, youre a life saver! Do you know also know about programming and such?

This was extremely helpful. I did have a hard time getting the plastic back on, especially the bottom under the hinge. It would have been helpful to see how you did that. I also didn’t have much sticky left and didn’t know if I should add tape or if the clips would be secure enough

I just look my laptop out of the case and the hinge cover had completely fallen off. So I obviously didn’t get the bezel replaced correctly at the bottom. Just an additional point for why it would be nice for you to cover this in your video.

Mine went back on easy peasy ***BUT*** only after I had carefully slotted back the black round cable below the camera and the main silvered bundle under the connector. Also push tye cover on from the back with the screen closed. It snaps on easy.

@@Jadebones Yes. I had to buy a 2 channel edp cable from hP, but it is fantastic now. HP just couldn't use one cable between the 720p and 1080 model even though it would have worked on both. I guess that extra .02 cents was good on revenue lol

@@x3swk the cable is the exact same on the connector, it's the amount of data lanes that was different, and yes it is a different cable for mine. My hp cable had one lane, but the motherboard supports 2 lanes because the same motherboard is used on a 1080p version. I found this info by searching the model on HP's site and comparing part numbers of the cables and motherboards. Also, I checked the data sheet for the replacement screen and the screen that was already on the machine. This told me that my screen was single lane, new was dual lane.

Great video we appreciate it. Thank you but I’ve got to say man the metal pride tool that’s crazy. I use the little plastic one and the heat gun everything came out perfect. Didn’t scratch anything didn’t break anything anything nothing flawless removal remover

LCD frame can be removed by simply prying. Zero damage occurs . Faster to just reapply adhesive strip. I repair probably 30+ HP laptops a day because they are the least reliable of all Brands by far. I have never seen so many failing computers. Hp also had a horrible reputation for not installing their LCD connectors properly. Cheaping out on just about everything inside. I have repaired hundreds of brand new Hp laptops that had the LCD connector not installed all the way! Haha! Bad quality control aswel! Their monitors have the same issues. I can’t stand what this company does inside their computer. Asus is great. MSi and Lenovo very good. Out of 50 laptops, ide say around 30 are HP out of all other brands.

I couldn’t get to the tape without putting my hand behind the screen to separate it first. For me it was kind of difficult to remove the screen. But I’m sure replacing the screen will be easier.
