We could have an Outlaw game from that age, or even during Mandalorians conquest. Or maybe 1000 years after Vader, with Jedi Order growing strong again, but NOPE, has to be SITH EMPIRE vs little resistance from normal people. My Dream is to play as jedi in a academy and choose a good / bad path.

Grew up loving Star Wars but almost everything touched by Disney has been mediocre at best and horrendously bad at worst. The Last Jedi was almost my last straw... then i watched Rise of Skywalker and wished i never had. I have nothing but apathy for current day Star Wars movies and shows at this point. But i've also been a gamer my whole life and that has been the last bastion of enjoyment for me when it comes to Star Wars. I liked both Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor quite a lot, but i guess Ubisoft will see to it that i'll lose interest in the gaming side of SW as well... yay.

DD2 was a mix. The game ran and still at certain points runs like ass. A lot of folks view it as the studio prioritzing mtx over an optimized game.Right after it was released, the mtx dropped. One of the mtx makes fast travel easier and reliable when hmfic claimed to dislike fast travel. They were selling you a solution to a "problem" they created. And yes, eventually, you get port crystals, but it would make fast travel easier if you had one at the beginning of the game.

DD2 runs well except for the cities most of the time (gtx 1660 ti at 50-60 fps most of the time. Cities, yeah, 35-45). No crashes in 85 hours of gameplay. Got no real bugs beside one or two npc dieing and needed to revive them for progressing a side quest. The enjoyment I got out of it was WAY bigger than the problem of fps or all that drama about dlc. If this is a complete mess… I wonder what cyberpunk release was.

Especially when it looks mediocre like DD2 on top of it. its understandable for game that run thousands of calculations every second, like some ARPG's, or games with groundbreaking visuals, but there is 0 excuse for the bad performance of DD2. it simply should not run as bad as it does.

Broken nose is one thing but why bother with mocap and model actress if people cant even tell that the protagonist was modeled after someone? Like in Jedi Survivor Cal was a perfect copy of his model. Seems pointless, is all. Silverhand was roughed up a lot as opposed to his model Keanu Reeves yet I can still tell it was the Keanu who lent him his apparition. Fuck it, even Kojima back in mgs 4 had perfect copies of actors in game.

When the entire character itself looks like a costume and not, well, a character. Link especially in the BotW series of games has the androgynous character design on purpose for him to relate to players as they’re playing. But he still has a core identity that resonates through the story telling. The core aspect and not appearances is the main aspect to his character. With the likes of Ubisoft and Starwars’ whole direction post Disney, it’s nothing but appearances as a track record to substitute for substance. Nostalgia isn’t gripping anyone anymore, especially with the games higher price tags with the deluxe versions.

Honestly I have no problem with the subscription service model, if anything this and gamepass are seriously generous models for the digital platform and we should be asking why more developers/publishers/platforms aren't following suit in some kind of fashion. If you want a physical copy for collectors/preservation/ownership purposes, then that's on you to pay that price, but as someone who does not care and am a fan of the steaming service model, I should be able to pay less.

With the dominance of digital distribution, there are no longer production costs to be considered for each and every copy. Sadly, the efficiency at which high level managers and investors suck money out of these projects with zero benefit to the product has increased by several orders of magnitude in the same span of time. If the investors expected ROI wasn't based on what they could get if they invested in cocaine and insuline, most people could figure out how to make a game costing SIGNIFICANTLY less then 70€. Why does the product look sterile and utterly soulless ? Because thats what you get when you have to run a creative process through 200 marketing meetings, optimize it to check all the checkboxes demanded and then get told what features you can and can not have. Anything else would be risky.
