Iv'e said this from the jump, Survival mode in Division 1 is the best multiplayer survival mode ever created. Trouble is, it was paywalled behind a game that a majority of players never gave a second thought to after a shit launch.

I've spend hundreds of hours playing this mode and I still pop in from time to time. When this first dropped and the lobby was full, it was fantastic. You were on edge until you finally boarded the rescue helicopter. Now the lobbies are smaller and I've gone many games with no player encounters. I'd love to see Ubisoft release this as a stand-alone, $5-$10 game. You'd fill up those lobbies again in no time.

I wish the player base blew up again for both games, people have to understand that division 1 now is not division 1 of launch. Just like division 2 post launch, is not going to be division 2 in the future

Quick story: Went to extract, since someone had already called one in, went up the rope, saw an agent, who was downed, get kicked in the stomach, and stabbed in the back by a hunter. It was the scariest thing I had ever seen. (I did save him tho...)

The year this DLC came out upstate NY got HAMMERED with a massive snow storm... THE largest in this area in recorded history, i put this on my phone and walked down the road with ZERO traffic at 5pm on a week day lol, it was surreal af! True story.

Go and do it. Not long ago there was a huge storm in my city. Put on some waterproof hiking boots, a rain jacket and went exploring some abandoned buildings with a torch Was an amazing experience I'll never forget

Back here again after playing through the Division 1 again on PC (played it a lot on PS4 back then before TD2 came out), finished 4 successful Survival sessions to finish the Phoenix Shield and it was just as I remember years ago.

I hope hunters will be returning in The Division 2. I feel like they're sort of tied to the winter setting, though. It would be interesting to see how they'd make an appearance in the summer.

Im curious how they will make the The Division 2 Survival. The developers say that they want to bring it back in the future but no direct confirmation. If Its going to be a thing it will be VERY different from TD1 Survival. Because TD1 also has a weather conditions to take into account which is like defining characteristic of the mode. Also yes hunters are a great part of the winter and dark atmosphere which we wont have in TD2. My hopes are high but it wont be as great as TD1 survival. Its clear as TD2's summer days :D

Now to me if they made some Story/Quest driven options that you could chase after for possible rewards if you could spare the manpower/resources inside survival that would be like the icing on the cake. Imagine finding a lone civilian who points you to a large Riker/Cleaner group with a boss, and if you saved the hostages (perhaps a time limit to keep the pressure on) you would get rewarded. Or perhaps you come across a civilian who needs meds in exchange for those precious early game crafting mats.

2 years later and i'm still listening to this, and dabbling in this game mode from time to time. Division 2 has NOTHING on the atmosphere of the original. This take on survival should have been copied 20x over by now... instead we get shitty Battle Royale standard fair.

Coming back to this OST, it's sad how many people missed out on this. So many people would love this mode. If it were theoretically possible to port it over right now into Division 2 just for the heck of it, it would be full, GUARANTEED, for weeks/months on end. No additional patch/content required provided it had decent rewards behind it. THAT many people missed it the first time... 🤷

alone in the white is the best song ever when you are going against a hunter in the extraction where you are in the middle of the city. today was my best run because me and my bud killed at least 4 teams of 2 and 1 guy in the very end where he went to the safe room in the dark zone and we straight up killed him and looted everything he had. we were low on medicine and we were like around 20 minutes left and the medicine wasn't as effective. we soon cleared out every strong hold in the map except 3 at the very top of the map and we were geared up pretty nice and were the last people in the session so we could do almost anything. I had -13 clothing so I was dying a bit but it didn't hurt me for some reason. it was the smoothest run ever and the Hunters literally ran to our EMP grenades and in 2 seconds both got dropped so quick. This song was the best for roaming down the street looking at the big buildings knowing you are the last alive.

To be honest I think the easiest way to kill the hunter is mainly sniping the fuckers. One sniper could take longer unless you're quick enough or have a squad then you are golden. And somehow I fucked that up

Hunters are cool but I wish they were done a bit better. In Survival is where they're best because it felt like they were stalking you but the issue I have with Hunters is that as the prey you always know where and when they're gonna show. If they had rare encounters like Rogue Agents or something that'd be pretty cool 'cause it's more unexpected.
