Im using since 2021 till now never faced any problem.. Ubia is still best for me.. My camera working well even during strong wind, rain etc.. Its still work fine for me..

Seem the auto record options go from 30 seconds to always recording, nothing in between. What to do if you want it to record while there's activity, not just for a few seconds of it?

Sorry - I don't have a working cam currently on the UBOX app (just sold my last one recently), but the "automatic" mode which other apps have (recording while movement is around) usually also doesn't work. I've tested it many times and in 99% of the cases fail. Hence with some other apps if available I use 10 seconds

Might be a stupid question, but isn't there a way to get these cheap cameras that use the app connect to your wifi and use an alternative app? Is there not something like a generic protocoll/platform/app/whatever where you simply connect to the camera's MAC adress or whatever identifier the hardware uses and use it with that? Oh, and: Bonus points if it's working on linux. Sorry if that's stupid and/or naive, I'm not a tech professional, barely good enough to having made the switch from windows to linux after 3 decades of using PCs... ;)

NP ... yes, there's the ONVIF protocol which is supported by some cameras, but I've never seen a battery operated camera doing that. Usually only wired cameras do that. If ONVIF protocol is not listed as featature in the camera then it's not supported. Most cam manufacturers don't support it because they want to make extra money from sellin cloud storage through the app ;-)))

No .... the only solution is an Android emulation on the PC (e.g. Bluestacks)

I received a pair of 4G Solar Security Cameras from Amazon, Hosafe cameras. The app is Ubox. I'm gone for 8 month out of a year, how reliable is the network. Can I use one app for both cameras?

Yes you can use both cameras in one UBOX app installation and you can share it with other ppl if you like and the network stability depends on the carrier and distance to the tower so you have to try and find out and IDK what network Hosafe is using, but you can use any GSM sim card anyway (usually in these cameras) so you don't have to return the cameras just to swap to another carrier for the data. Sometimes the SIM card providers can also "swap" you to another carrier in case of problems. I had this with the EIOTCLUB sim card, hence they tried around a bit, but just be careful ... if you're out of network during swapping then they won't be able to switch back. Had this problem once so they had to send me a new SIM card ... lol

We had a camera which we sent back and was using 0-cam which only gives a 7 day also.

Yeah tested some cams with O-cam recently and they were pretty good. 7 days for lifetime is cool ... if it's lifetime ... but can't remember ... lol

Did you ever find a fix for them ? I got two of them and they were working fine but now they are doing the same thing as your and I never had cloud.

I usually try to avoid UBOX cams in general. Sometimes they work nicely and then in a sudden huge problems. Better go with a CloudEdge cam or even better VicoHome.

LOL ... there are dozens of possible reasons. Did you check the light on the camera? Is there power? Did you already restart and try again?

U have to reset the router and the camera if the camera doesn't show red or blue light just reset the router and the camera it will work

i bought two cameras that LOOKS like the same cameras that use TUYA. i set both up, but without the cloud services how can see the stuff stored on the SD card? you can click the picture and video icon and it says it saved to album... WHERE is the album?? it appear to take any pics or video with some sort of paid sub.

Worst camera ever have to buy sim cards to use them ,when you charge them and go to install them they don't work without a sim card I'll stick to the best cameras which is a light bulb camera works the best these ubox cameras are put in the bin
