Thanks for the video. I'm a 3d artist and this was super helpful to grab screenshots of all the angles and close ups. Much appreciated 6 years later :)

I just got my 1st UBR Stock and am stoked to install it. Thanks for making the video. Still not 100% clear on the spacer, but will figure it out. I got mine in Wolf gray and its going on a 308 AR. I now want one for my next AR 15 build. My buddy has the Gen 1 and there's quite a difference.

There sure is. I have the first one it is a tank. I have a gen2 but don't like it. It doesn't feel the same as gen1.

Just installed mine, this was a helpful video. However, your cheek rest piece is not all the way in @6:11 when it was pushed by hand, there is a lip that has to go over the nut(nut has a grove). Should go all the way to the plate,a few taps with a very very light hammer does the trick.

I just installed my.seems like missing three detail here, Using the square recess on the back of tube,tight with a 1/2” torque driver and torque to 35-39 ft-lbs.my is 30 ft-lbs.tighten the main tube nut to 20-25 ft-lbs.lightly tap the cheek piece with a soft-faced mallet on the angled end so that the cheek piece locking tab engages the slot in the Main Tube Nut. Then will see the cheek piece flat end side is close the ASAP Plate(castle nut).By the way,still your video is very helpfully.thank you!

The UBR buffer tube that it comes with is it mil-spec or commercial ? Thanks in advance

Did you just like 98% of normal people, starting with myself, forget to put in the carbine spring insert? It only goes in one way, one side is marked SPRING SIDE. Only reason I know is that without it silent springs setup like Armspec or similar will be too short. Bugger tube is about 0.6 inches longer than standard carbine. Carbine spring fits and works well, I have not notice any lighter bolt forwards or anything. Thank you for the video?

Such a beautiful stock. How are you liking it? I've heard UBRs are the most robust collapsible stocks on the market

It is solid. A bit heavy, but this by no means a lightweight build.

I have this and I love it. I put one on my 16" I built and it's awsome. I should have got one instead of the prs light stock for my 20" because it's not good and I don't like it. But this is the best

Hello sir so there is no preset travel on the Gen2 and have you ran a single point sling with the UBR by chance?
@jrvaden7 жыл бұрын
That is correct, there is not a preset function. On the single point question, no I haven’t. I’m have tried single point slings in the past and they’re not my thing.

Just have to give the top sheath a little more of a tap from the rear, it has a rim that fits into the castle nut, just gotta tap it over that, and it all lines up smooth.

A bit of fluff in the video but the instructions help
@joeygomez83676 жыл бұрын
So you install the spacer if you’re just running.223 or 5.56
@jrvaden6 жыл бұрын
Joey caliber doesn’t matter. It depends on the buffer length. If you use a standard carbine buffer, commonly used in collapsible stocks, then you use the spacer. If you are using the new A5 length buffer, you don’t use the spacer. If you don’t know what an A5 buffer is you probably don’t have one. The old A2 buffer for full length rifle stocks will not fit at all.

“If you want you can take a wrench and really torque it down.” REALLY??? Is that verbatim from the install manual? I don’t think I have ever “really torqued down a buffer/RE tube before. Ever. If you aren’t going to assemble the stock correctly - then why make the video in the first place? It’s literally a waste. Tightening the castle-type nut down and saying “ya gotta tighten that up later.” Is not a correct install procedure. Anything worth doing is worth doing right and the simple fact that there is so much garbage being put out on KZbin. Don’t become of of them. Or take the word “installation” out of your title if you are just going to half-ass it.

Robert S. Page 3, Step 5(A) “Using the square recess on the back of the tube, tighten with a 1/2” torque drive and torque to 36-39 ft-lb.”
@trauma54756 жыл бұрын
What is the best way to loosen the grey piece on the back of the buffer tube that holds the tube assembly together? Sorry for the shitty terms, not sure exactly what its called but in the video he just twisted it right off, while mine is so stiff that it literally broke one of my adjustable wrenches trying to remove it. The time stamp for when he got it off is: 3:12, but it seems as if his gave with little resistance.
@cpride0736 жыл бұрын
There is a tool included that he showed. You use that and remove just like a castle nut.
