This is currently my favorite thing on the internet (Roy Dean demonstration videos). I appreciate the beauty of the videos, but even more the beauty of the Jiu Jitsu demonstrated in them. Much respect to Roy Dean and his academy.

I love that you went easy on him towards the end and even let him tap you in front of everyone. Sets a good example to the school that even a black belt should get tapped by lower belts at times.
@kaibe52415 жыл бұрын
I think he was wanting him to get a technique down, so once he had position, he let him finish. Shouldn't always dominate imho - learn a lot more with both of you when giving up certain positions on purpose and letting others finish.

I had a purple belt do this for me recently. Allowing me to work good technique while using enough effort to make me earn it.

Been reviewing this several times this year for my purple belt prep. Really helps. Realized how big is the gap between the blue and purple. But at the stage I'm at, seasoned blue belt, I am seeing the holes in people's game. Which tells me, that next level is not so far away as years ago.

All of Roy Dean’s students show the same level of fluidity, and you can see that his teaching is a very implemented into their styles. Every video I watch it’s as if I’m watching the same student. I mean that in a positive way! It’s so damn impressive the results he produces.
