Protesters have clashed at pro-Palestinian encampments in Los Angeles, hours after police cleared a similar protest in New York.
At the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), vice-chancellor Mary Osako said, "horrific acts of violence occurred at the encampment tonight".
At Columbia University in New York, police arrested protesters nearly 24 hours after they took over an academic building.
US universities have been gripped by protests as students demanded a boycott of companies and individuals with ties to Israel.

When the police in China and Russia act in the same way, ALL Western countries condemn the suppression of the "right to free speech and the right to protest". But all this is now happening in Germany, France, Australia, Italy and the USA. Which means that the double measure exists and is applied.

Why are outside agitators, including ex IDF soldiers, allowed to attack our children like that? They were the ones dismantling the barriers the students had put up for protection and forcing their way in. They have been spraying students with skunk sprays. They do it to Palestinians and now they want to do it to our children?

Why does the title say 'violence' in inverted commas? It is actual violence, not maybe violence.

The fact that the "counter protest" was so violent that a US security company felt too unsafe and had to withdraw. This, a country where you can legally own an assault rifle before you even leave high school and a professional security service had to leave for their own safety.
