IKR! I start checking 2 hours after game end. Then every subsequent hour. It hit midnight tonight and I thought, “Oh well, I’ll have something to look forward to tomorrow.” And then I decided to check one more time after 1. So glad I did.

Maybe now that we're healthy (aside from Paige of course) we'll start blowing teams out like this and get Amari and Piath some much needed playing time. Gabriel is incredibly efficient.

there not gonna be blowing out good teams. the better teams in the woman's game is getting very even as far as talent goes. There are so many good high school players coming out now thanks to the way the game has evolved over the last 5-10 years. Don't get me wrong but Xavier is not a good team at all and they should be blowing teams like this out. Missing top two scorers due to suspension right now Xavier is a mess. But UConn is getting everybody back and are probably one of about 8-10 teams that have a shot at winning it all. After the year they have had with all the injuries and with that last piece now practicing( Paige) this would be one of there best accomplishments if they do win it all.

No team with any real talent or coaching (like the top 10-15) is gonna get blown out by 50+ obviously. Sorry but most of your comment was kinda unnecessary. How about those steals. It's usually Nika Muehl who picks pockets and drives the length of the floor for a dramatic layup. Today, we had three steals in the first half. First, it was Evina Westbrook, then it was Dorka Juhaz, and then, it was Christina Williams. Moreover, Sweet Caroline did it twice. Ask yourself, "When have I ever seen that before?" Seven defensive turnovers resulted in points, & Azzi did it too; furthermore, Edwards crashed into the benches twice trying to get her quota of turnovers. Intercepted passes & stolen dribbles pay off big, especially in Sweet 16 games. So, what happened today against Xavier is laying the groundwork for the future.

Gino’s got a new problem on his hands……..7 starters…..and soon to be 8 with Paige. What a different looking team! 😎 And then the last two off the bench come in looking like veterans. THAT was fun to watch. Just need to eliminate the brain-dead unforced errors which tend to plague the team early in games, lazy passes, dribbling into triple teams, missing wide open cutters, etc…. Too many bad plays against a struggling team. Maybe with some stability post-injury season, they can polish things up a bit.

UCON women's team has gone from "Paige is our only outside shooter." to Caroline, Azzi, Evina and Amari can all hoist it up & in. That doesn't mean that Williams, Juhaz, & the Dodo can't shoot; no, it means that "Sweet" Caroline, "Shooter" Fudd, "Unsung" Evina & "Deadeye" Amari all have the gift. They sure can shoot out the lights. One more thing. There's always one more thing. and here it is. Look for an intense rivalry between Caroline Ducharme & Azzi Fudd for a starting spot. I think that right now Caroline is the better all-around basketball player, but Azzi does everything well and she is an excellent shooter. How's that going to play out when Paige is back in the line-up? My WAG is that Gino has the brains to rotate his four guards: Paige, Azzi, Caroline, & Nika. One more thing: Sometimes there's more than one more thing. There are some 6'7" girls out there, so Gino better get Amari & Piaf ready. Sure, Dorka & the Dodo are good, but they are not 6'7". I' thinking that Gino better start rotating Amari & Piaf into the lineup because the big tournament is no time to break those girls in. My conclusion is that Gino will go from a guy who only plays six or seven girls in a game to someone who plays the whole team.

Early in the game the less experienced UConn players were anticipating tournament play. Distractions like that are inevitable and play returned to normal after Olivia and Eve came in and set the tone. Caroline seemed immune and also played as though experienced. Dorka may have been most afflicted. Once in gear they played well. There is no substitute for real experience!!! Focusing on the moment and remembering all the things they have learned to do this year will also help them.

These Xavier ladies are gutsy, hard working basketball players. They got a little tired toward the end, but never dropped their heads. Kudos to the Xavier coach for enforcing the team rules even when the offending players are her two most prolific scorers. Every available Husky team member playing and scoring is an encouraging sign. It will be terrific to see Paige off of the bench and playing.

It appears to me that both Azzi and Caroline shoot their shorts with not much arc. Azzi's shot seems to just skim over the front rim into the net. Her shot seldom hits the back rim at all. Both of their shots are very precise but I guess if you watch a Fudd shooting workout you can see why she is so precise. Caroline's shot is also flatter than say William's or Westbrook"s. They're really getting to be fun to watch.

With 5:44 left in the half, Christin Williams would be on the bench if it were me. I think she has her total of 3 T/O for the game already. I know the play will get better as the game continues but I am pulling my (ok, ok) I have no hair left to pull out.

Good win for Uconn everybody got play except paige. Xavier still trying to rebuild. An equal amount of scoring from everyone. Piath in double figures Deberry with the Paul Pierce strut.

Only thru' player injuries does Geno learn what his team members can do! Remember how he discovered Diana Taurasi after an injury to one of "his star players"?? The old saying, "you cannot teach an old dog new tricks", comes to mind!!! I just wonder how long HIS BOSSES can TOLERATE HIS OCD, while the young players suffer to the detriment of their careers...
