I suspect the challenge Aaliyah is having this year over last is that she is the only experienced big on the court. Last year Aaliyah had Dorka to split the defensive focus and punish double teams. This year, Ice isn't quite the same size (and needs more experience) and Amari has never managed to be an inside scoring threat. This season looked like a more guard-centric year.. but with Azzi out and Caroline unable to play at D1 level/intensity for long.. there is not enough outside shooting risk. I suggest fans temper their expectation this year to something more akin to last year.. even with Paige going hero-mode.. the rookies need time and other teams are simply further along this year.

Well you're not going to get a lot of defense from the freshman. That comes with time. UCONN is also a guard centric team, and most the Freshman are guards.

Better rotations, less trouble inside, Ice, Aaliyah, and Aubrey got good inside shots, but missed too many. Nika was better, but Kansas guarded K.K. pretty well. This was more like a conference game. Ice still has a long way to go.

Honestly - we looked dreadful for most of the time. Maybe the travel, IDK. We were just getting to a set lineup then lost 2/5 of it. Azzi, and let's be honest - I hope she is able to do what she wishes in life but I seriously doubt Carol will ever be Carol again. And the thing that will kill us is the middle. No bigs whatsoever. Aaliyah is not a big - she is a 4. She needs a big body/rim protector to really be effective. I look at the recruit class and all I see are guards. What is Geno thinking? We saw the freshmen start making freshmen mistakes here; expect their ups and downs to continue because, freshmen. Yep, gonna be a tough year. Go Huskies!

I'm not looking forward to playing Texas or SC..These games are not going to be pretty..SC has too much size...I don't know what the other BigEast teams look like but I'll be checking for sure.
