Prof. Chesney makes a very valid point in a way that hadn't occurred to me when she says "positive emotions are *not* the inverse of negative emotions." (She then points out, correctly, that depression and its opposites can exist in parallel.) Positive thinking propaganda has often bothered me; critical analysis has great value, and boosterism is often highly destructive. Chesney's point is apropos. I think we need to be clear that things are not necessarily positive or negative just because somebody puts those labels on them.

I would be interested in the link between positive affect and a regular practice in the arts. There are interesting results in the field of singing and ageing.

20 minute mark and she just wouldn't stop talking about all the health risks of stress. I had to STOP. As an hypochondriac this was a HORRIBLE watch, WE GET IT, IT'S HARMFUL, get to the point!!
