It is good to see things getting back to normal. People need to get over being scared.

As long as people are a little sensible, it now makes sense to start getting back on track. I'm not sure about other countries though. I believe that the situation here in Thailand was managed much better than a lot of other countries and fortunately, only a very small amount of people were affected.

I returned back to the UK 2017 and miss the shops in Thailand. Many high street shops in the UK have gone along with the pubs.
@TheIsaanFarang4 жыл бұрын
London and the UK in my eyes is in a massive decline. Many empty shops on most high streets and as you say, a lot of pubs closing. I'm sure this is to do with most people having less leisure time, less disposable income, plus the socialising part of British life is disappearing. Growing up in London, I saw how people have become more insular.

But a lot of small micro brewery bars have opened up and now with less TV and less footie the pubs are better and the music is better than the bars here

I think there's often a huge aerobic workout up at Nong Prajak, next to the fire station? In Nong Khai there was a massive aerobic session most nights, with huge speakers. The woman that runs the little Macky's outlet in the food court was the main leader.

Thanks for the heads up Craig. I'll get down there soon and shoot a video of the park.

@@Dijahtal_Arts_Not_Digital_Arts It was 2014 when I saw them. Opposite the Esso filling station on the main road, in the car park of a school I think. Nong Khai not that big. They managed to attract an incredibly high fraction of the local women. The American, whose wife helped run it, was called Bart (IIRC). Just like Kermit, a perfectly innocent American name, and then the Muppetts (or Simpsons) starts, and you're screwed!

It is whats normal for us Tom. Nothing extravagant but enjoying every minute of it. Waiting for the internal flights to resume a normal service then getting some more travelling in. This little GoPro camera is great. Should have bought one when we started out. Pleased that you are enjoying the videos.

lovely vlog as always, had a nice meal at Sizzlers UT, best salad bar in the world for me, i stayed a few minutes walk from central when i was there, think the hotel was called UD Towers, very cheap, only 700TB for the mid-range room, and with only a £24 return flight from Bangkok well worth the trip and i will do it again if i get a chance. Pook is looking great even with the facemask, and you are great together. good luck, and stay safe

We sometimes go into Sizzlers for the salad bar only. Great if all that you want is a light lunch. Only costs 149.00 baht during the week. 199 .00 baht at weekends. Where is UD Towers?...I can't place it. Thanks for your kind words Tony.

Your're right Mark. Things have been dealt with pretty good here. I think common sense has to play a big part in this. Good to see that the number of people affected was fortunately very low here in Udon Thani. So pleased that I wasn't stuck in London when this all kicked off.

Did you end up getting the microphone kit? I saw that you couldn’t get it in 1 store but you were searching around after that. Btw how safe is it driving around Udon? I know Thailand has pretty bad road death stats, i’ve always fancied a go on a moped or motorbike.
@TheIsaanFarang4 жыл бұрын
We did Chris. We got everything that we needed in that first shop. Just had to order one part through Lazada. I feel safer riding around town here than I would on a scooter in London. Uber in London is a major concern. As with driving anywhere in the world, you just need to keep your wits about you. I find that the Thai people as drivers are much more considerate and forgiving than anywhere else that I have driven.
