UE - Renz Prison Cinematic Edition

Quick history about this place, it was the main prison for women in Missouri until the big flood of 1993 that wiped it out. There has been a lot of talk about tearing it down, but I'm not sure if they have yet. I had a job in 1993 for a time that required me to go to about 10 active prisons in Missouri. The only one that scared me was Renz from what other people told me about going there. It was supposed to be the worst one as far as the inmates we had to deal with. I missed having to go there by about a week, the flood came and they had to quickly evacuate it before I had to go there. BackyardExploration, you should try to get into the old Jefferson City Correction Center (also known as Missouri State Penitentiary). They also do tours there for the general public. It was closed as a prison in 2004. It was built in 1830 and housed Death Row for a number of years. 39 prisoners were executed there in the gas chamber. It is reportedly haunted and they sometimes do nighttime ghost tours there. I was in this prison and it's creepy as hell.

Amazing video. the shots are just perfect. Im just starting to Urbex, have filmed and taking pictures, on a couple of places. hospital and a closed school , any advice to a rookie Urbexer :)
