Literally searching for hours in forums how to make the render target works on multiplayer, this saved my life. Actually the Scene Capture Component could be on the Player BP, just set it on show only actors and the add a self reference to it in construction script or begin play.

Just a thought but would that cast to third person be failing due to the UI refresh happening on item drop ? Making it loose its reference for a split second

For anyone who's having performance issues DO NOT create the Display actor on begin play only create it when you open the inventory and after you close the inventory destroy all its actors from class

Better solution. Disable Capture Every Frame inside the scene component, so by default is disabled. And when ever you create the widget enable it and then disable when closing.
