One thing about voxel games is that, it needs to be done with the proper style. I found voxelstein to be both retro and next-gen at the same time, which is odd. But this one is actually good.

Bitoken good afternoon. I watched your video and just admired the idea and the quality of implementation. Please answer a few questions if you can. Under the video, you indicated that you used the Voxtel Plugin and Magicavoxel programs. I have a question about them: - As I understand it, Magicavoxel is used to create environment objects, houses, and trees, - Please tell us how you created the landscape in the video, - Please tell me what you are using the Voxel Plugin, Thanks. *Recently released Minecraft Dungeons and I was very upset that there is very little content in It, I do not understand how a large global company can officially release this =( Your video prompted me to study the Unreal Engine.
@christopherpoet4584 жыл бұрын
From my understanding, he used the Voxel Plugin for Unreal Engine 4. As for the terrain, there is a video that shows you how to get started in making that kind of terrain (I am messing with it myself), but I am not sure what the exact specifications are. Basically, the way I know how to do it, "creates noise" that is translated into height and depth. The values can be set from 0.0 and up. I have never heard of this Magicavoxal before though. I will have to look into that. Not sure it would do me any good for my goals though.
@anonymoussloth66873 жыл бұрын
@@christopherpoet458 what view are you taking about that shows the terrain stuff?
@christopherpoet4583 жыл бұрын
@@anonymoussloth6687 Texture Materials. I would have to get on UE again to get the specifics so give me another day and I will come back and edit this with the details. It allows you to create textures like Terrain.
@christopherpoet4583 жыл бұрын
@@anonymoussloth6687 As for the terrain generation, again, it is done through the Voxel Plugin for UE4. There is a basic free version and a Paid version with more control and settings. It has been a while since I was going through and messing with that specific aspect of UE, but I can do a quick demo vid about it if it helps.

Based on my knowledge the grass is just simple voxel blocks that are places with the foliage painter. It could also be procedurally generated\, but that would still require a voxel block.
